7(26) Seasons

Although spring is in the air, we decided to prolong winter by venturing out to the high mountains for some late season skiing. And the weather did not disappoint, throughout the week we had sunny skies, snowstorm and foggy day. Guess which was my favorite:-)

A rather wet day, so where better else to have a pause than than in a cave. Millican Dalton's Cave in Borrowdale

- Millican Dalton (20 April 1867 – 5 February 1947) was a self-styled "Professor of Adventure".

Born on 20 April 1867 at Nenthead, Alston, Cumberland, he spent his early life in the northwest of England before his family moved to Essex. He became an insurance clerk in London, living in Loughton where he had a cottage, but at the age of 36, he gave up this existence and went to live under canvas, in a rough wooden shack, and in a cave (which he dubbed "The Cave Hotel"), from where he offered camping and adventure holidays. He spent his summers in the cave in Borrowdale, moving south to the wooden shed in Buckinghamshire during the colder months.

Almost at that point where I can't look out the window and the neighbor's shed has accumulated more than 7 feet of snow over the last three weeks

The Lake was particularly lovely this evening...

Those rose-colored clouds!!

7 years ago I first dressed up fully as a girl and saw my femme self looking back at me in the mirror for the first time.

I'd never really thought about crossdressing much before that, apart from a couple of times when I'd worn a french maid costume and a terrible blond wig during kinky roleplay with my missus. Once I'd discovered it, I was hooked and wanted to do it properly. It took me a couple of months to get my look good enough before posting pics online both on here and tvchix, and then going out for the first time to BNO a few weeks after.

I do wonder what it would have been like if I'd been doing this 20 years ago, but I think that coming to it later in life gives me a different perspective than I would have had otherwise. I'm certainly making up for lost time!

I love being part of this community, and I'm so incredibly grateful to everyone that comments on and favourites my pics. How much longer will I be doing this? Who knows, but I'll enjoy it while I can.

LS&I 3073 and 3009 ease 60 loads under the deluge at Tilden as an empty limestone hauler rolls past back to Marquette. I like to think the puddles are iron ore stained versus simply muddy. This doesn't compare to JJL's excellent 1995 shot on page 52 of LS&I V2 but I'll take it...in 2016.

This is a photograph that I took at the Vintage Sports Car Club's Richard Seaman Memorial Trophies meeting at Oulton Park in June 1984. It's the 1935 Austin 7 Twin Cam of S.A.Wood that took part in a handicap race at the meeting. There was at one time a similar car in the Donington Park Museum which displayed the following description:

‘These lovely little single seaters were Sir Herbert Austin’s reply to the successful M.G. Midgets fielded by Sir William Morris in the 1930s. Designed by T. Murray-Jamieson, well known for his work on super chargers, and assisted by W.V. Appleby & T. Brown, the cars had a troubled debut in 1936, with most of the testing and development carried out here at Donington Park. With teething troubles rectified, these cars went from strength to strength during the 1937/38/39 seasons. Usually driven by L.P. Driscoll, C.L. Goodacre & “Bert” Hadley they competed in everything from speed trials and hill climbs through to 500 mile races at Brooklands. The two “twin cams” made many appearances at Donington Park winning, along with numerous sprints and handicap races, the Coronation Trophy here in 1937, the British Empire Trophy race here in 1938 and the Imperial Trophy at Crystal Palace in 1939. Not only were these cars pretty to look at, the 747cc engine was an engineering masterpiece, very highly stressed And reputedly capable of revving to 12,000 R.P.M.'
