trying out the poor man's macro/reversed fiddy technique on the angelfish in Mr.P's tank. I should probably work with only stationary subjects for this technique since the fish darted out of my field of vision 90% of the time before I could even frame the shot, but I'm pretty happy with how this turned out.

Today I went for my job interview at the Ruby Tuesday in Clemmons. I have a really good feeling about this job. Hopefully I will get hired there, and HOPEFULLY they won't throw my application away on the spot like *cough cough* BUTTON'S did. I mean, why shouldn't I get hired at a children's clothing store just because I'm a guy?? Oh well. This photo reflects the black uniform they require servers to wear up at R.T. I do need to hit up American Apparel and some cool shoe store to get black pants and black shoes. I hope all goes well with this! :)

Day 74: For some reason, I can't throw away my old textbooks. I foresee the possibility that one day I'll have to reference an old textbook to refresh myself on some forgotten topic. Unlikely, I know, since this hasn't ever happened. Still, I can't throw my textbooks away. Ever since I was a small child in grade school, I've held textbooks in such high regard. That's why when I was in college, I could never bring myself to highlight in any of my books or even resell them. I've never even dog-eared my books. I'm weird that way, I guess.

I met up on Thursday evening with Matt (Flatworldsedge) for a quick bout of stranger photography. We'd chosen Brick Lane as there was some street art that Matt wanted to use as a background.
The weather was starting to get a bit horrid and most people had their heads down and were not biting but I didn't mind as I'm happy walking around, taking in the scene and talking shop.
At point I saw Matilda here walking up the street with a very trendy looking guy and was tempted but I couldn't see a background nearby that I'd use for her so I didn't go after her. But about 20 mins later, as we headed back up the street, I saw the two of them in a shop and just past the door way was a black roller shutter that I thought would work well. I hung around for about 5 mins but they didn't look like they were coming out in a hurry as her bloke was chatting to the guy in the shop. Matilda was looking at her phone and seemed bored so eventually I went into the shop and made my pitch. After assuring her guy that I'd be sure to bring her back we headed off outside.
She was quite nervous and really had to work hard to give me a straight face but she was a star and eventually we got the shot that I was after. Ace!
Matilda's from Sweden but lives in London now. It was cold and I could sense that after taking quite a lot of her time she wanted to get back to the warm shop so I thanked her, handed over my card and off she went.
Thanks Matilda, I really appreciated your time and it was great fun making a portrait of you!

The color of my eye
Kinda frustrating to see the sun shine so beautiful the last couple of days and I can't go out to shoot it...
The antibiotics i'm taking don't go well with sunlight :(
So another indoor shot, cut this flower out of the garden to be my photo of the day, he was honored ;)

Lighting was beautiful today!!! I love hazy days for that fact... Anyway, I wanted to focus on brown colors today + purplish hues. I think it worked alright! :) What do you think?
It rained so my back deck was nice and dark brown instead of light brown. So that was nice.
I baked cookies last night and took them to school today to make friends and bribe my Precal teacher. However, people were didn't want my cookies and my teacher's stomach didn't feel good... -_- But I ended up handing out most of them and people really liked them. So that's my cookie story. I'm sure your life is better for reading this. In fact, I'm surprised if you did read this whole long story.
Thanks I suppose :)
What's your favorite kind of cookie? And if you could bake anything, what would you bake?

I didn't have enough time to snap a quick portrait today so here's a chocolate-poke-cake we made earlier as a substitute(topped with edible rose petals)!!
Plus that melted icing looks like liquid gold.
