Op 14 en 15 September 2024 , was er in Bahnhof Balsthal(Zwitserland ) een prachtig evenement , namelijk 60 jaar Re 4/4 !
Ondermeer waren er rond de 20 Re 4/4 Lokomotieven in allerlei kleuren opgesteld zelfs in de bier/eet tent , tevens werden er ook diverse fotofahrten tussen station Balsthal en station Oensingen gehouden met iedere keer andere samenstelling , en er waren ook een aantal gast locomotieven
De SSB 11141 was speciaal voor deze twee dagen flink opgeknapt en werdt voor het publiek op zaterdag 14 September 2024 tussen 12:00/12:30 gepresenteerd !(stond op de schema , maar was in de werkelijkheid deurtje op en rustig naar buiten rijden foto momentje naast de 11173 , en een paar minuutjes later samen in dubbeltractie klaar te gaan staan voor een foto rit richting Oensingen …... Zag er erg strak uit ,
Ook was een Rhätische bahn lok op speciale wagons.

Passing the Cricketfield Road turning on its way to Newton Abbot Bus Station is Devon General 613 (OUP 679P), which was formerly United 679 and was acquired by Devon General in 1983 to assist with the replacement of the Atlanteans.
For the first time ever seeing potash loads taking the southward route of CP’s Aldersyde Subdivision, I made the short trip down to the De Winton area to grab a few shots of 613 in the late morning of June 5, 2022.
I believe this train came southward off of the Red Deer Sub, after taking the more northern route from the mines in Saskatchewan.
First discovered in 1798 by German-English astronomer William Herschel, NGC 613 is a galaxy that lies in the southern constellation of Sculptor, 67 million light-years away.
Featured here in an image from the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope, NGC 613 is a lovely example of a barred spiral galaxy. It is easily distinguishable as such because of its well-defined central bar and long arms, which spiral loosely around its nucleus. As revealed by surveys, about two-thirds of spiral galaxies, including our own Milky Way galaxy, contain a bar.
Recent studies have shown that bars are more common in galaxies than they were in the past, giving us important clues about galaxy formation and evolution.

Sorry I've dropped off the planet for a few days. I have been out in the middle of nowhere with absolutely no cell phone signal or any internet whatsoever. I have to drive about 10 miles and pull off the road as soon as I see a signal just to make a phone call or check my email.
Anyway. Here is a night shot from last month in Sedona. Not sure if these rock formations have a name, but, they are right beside the famous cathedral up on the rocks. Lit by moonlight. I wish I clold have gotten the moon a bit further to the right because the light is kind of flat. Unfortunately this was as far to the left as I could go without climbing fences and walking through peoples backyards.
This is the first time a Landaulet has been outside of the Czech Republic. Just 5 have been built.

vec 100 000 années-lumière de diamètre, la galaxie spirale barrée NGC 613 se situe à 67 millions d'années-lumière de la Terre dans la constellation méridionale du Sculpteur (Sculptor). Sa barre centrale est bien définie et ses longs bras, s'enroulent librement autour de son noyau (environ les deux tiers des galaxies spirales contiennent une barre, la Voie lactée semblant aussi en avoir une à travers sa ligne médiane). Ces barres sont d'ailleurs plus courantes dans les galaxies aujourd’hui que par le passé, ce qui nous donne des indices importants sur la formation et l’évolution des galaxies. Ses longs bras spiraux sont formés de nuages de poussières cosmiques et parsemés de plusieurs points lumineux rosâtres correspondant à des zones de formation d'étoiles.
Le noyau de NGC 613 semble ici brillant et uniformément blanc en raison de la lumière combinée provenant de la forte concentration d'étoiles regroupées dans le noyau. Mais en son centre, un trou noir monstrueux réside en son coeur dont la masse est estimée à environ dix fois celle du trou noir supermassif de la Voie lactée. Quand la matière descend dans la gueule du trou noir, rayonne de l'énergie et émet des ondes radio, il n’en subsiste cependant aucune trace dans les longueurs d’onde optiques et infrarouges (cf. ESA/Hubble & NASA, G. Folatelli).
