Edge to edge on these hearts is 1.25". I used a UV flashlight to create the glow. The hearts are the hem of a dress on a medal ornament that my mother gave me many years ago.
The ISO was set high accidentally and I did not notice until after I processed the image.
I am convinced that abstract form, imagery, color, texture, and material convey meaning equal to or greater than words.-- Katherine McCoy

When I look into the eyes of an animal I do not see an animal. I see a living being. I see a friend. I feel a soul.

Dream delivers us to dream, and there is no end to illusion. Life is like a train of moods like a string of beads, and, as we pass through them, they prove to be many-colored lenses which paint the world their own hue. . . .

When we pay attention, whatever we are doing...is transformed and becomes a part of our spiritual path. We begin to notice details and textures that we never noticed before everyday life becomes clearer, sharper, and at the same time more spacious.

I had a wonderful day in Bournemouth with CaptiveLight photographing an array of critters including this Red Eyed Tree Frog. This has to be my favourite though, just look at those feet. Thanks to Miles & Rihanna for making the morning go so smoothly and Lillian for organising this special treat.

At a first glance, nature seems to follow simple laws that determine how every process in nature occurs. This is only an illusion. Nature is not only complex but also intriguingly original in every one of its works. For us, nature is the possibility of marvelous explorations.
Nature speaks to us through different images, landscapes, colors, patterns, and forms of exquisite beauty. As we admire nature’s extravagance, our emotions and feelings become part of it. This harmonious balance makes our souls happy.
Taken for the Macro Mondays group theme "White on White". I found this quite a challenge - very difficult to keep the whites white!

A strange woodland plant that is all flower and no leaves.
Common toothwort (Lathraea squamaria) is a parasitic plant living on the roots of a range of woody plants, on which it is dependent for its nutrition. It is most commonly found in shady areas feeding on decaying hazel. Toothwort is unusual in that it is completely lacking in chlorophyll.
I was asked a wee while ago to put this one up one here. I'd previously added it as a comments picture. Its not the full version of the one from a few days ago but a 16:9 crop of the one from November. I kept that as a panoramic crop in colour as the sky at the top of the frame was distracting. However, I really liked the shape of the trees when they were allowed more room and in particular I liked the way the light lit up the various wee bit of foliage. However, being a bit of a B&W nut I felt that this particular crop worked far better in mono. It might be that others won't like it as they will far prefer the colour version. As regards the mono processing I'm fairly sure that it started life using a preset supplied by Scott Masterton - rather an accomplished photographer and one whose photostream I would advise you to have a wee look at.
PS - full size this image is 11060x6221 and is a six frame stitch taken with the Nikon 60mm macro lens so the detail is rather immense full size (if you like that sort of thing).

Look at plants, they grow without worrying about the past or the future. All they need is light, sun and a pen..
