Tonight I find myself in a most unusual situation...almost wireless...hundreds of miles from home for the next 6 days...have my mac with me to process images...but no portable hard drive to switch them over to this rinky dink old pc which serves as my only source to the internet!...so it would seem that for the moment I can only comment and not submit! I found this image on my photostream from a while back...obviously one which I had decided not to go with...how handy it is now...a bit like the humble button from my last post! PS this pc is so rinky dink the only punctuation that works on it is the full stop...I think you call this a period in the US!...oh yes...the exclaimation mark works too!
Toronto got some beautiful snow last week. I love the beauty of winter but I'll never get used to being perpetually cold and tired in these dark months.

The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying the Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich spacecraft lifts off from Space Launch Complex 4 at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, Nov. 21, 2020, at 9:17 a.m. PST (12:17 p.m. EST).
The Sentinel-6/Jason-CS (Continuity of Service) mission consists of the Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich satellite, which will be followed by its twin, the Sentinel-6B satellite, in 2025. The Sentinel-6/Jason-CS mission is part of Copernicus, the European Union's Earth observation program, managed by the European Commission. Continuing the legacy of the Jason series missions, Sentinel-6/Jason-CS will extend the records of sea level into their fourth decade, collecting accurate measurements of sea surface height for more than 90% of the world's seas, and providing crucial information for operational oceanography, marine meteorology, and climate studies. NASA's Launch Services Program at Kennedy Space Center was responsible for launch management.

Over $57,000 raised with 6 days left to buy a book!
Of all the places I traveled last year, Point of the Arches on the Olympic peninsula is near the top of my list. The fact that it takes 4.5 hours of driving, 2 hours of walking and that it rains 300 days a year makes it difficult to reach, but when you get a sunny day, it can’t be beat. I’ve spent both a miserable rainy day and 2 beautiful sunny days… I’ll take a sunny day please :)

I finally got around to editing some of the shots that I was able to get of this American Avocet that I came across near Viscount Saskatchewa...
One of the more colourful shore birds, the American Avocet is definitely one of my favorite shore birds to capture...

My first 6 wide car! I spent ages making sure that 4 minifigs could sit comfortably inside. The roof's a bit chunkier than I'd really like though.

Ok, story time. Im sitting at home as one does. Knock on the door. Get up, open door. There stands the mail man. I take the packages and magazines, thank him, and he leaves. I open a large square box first, its my iPhone case that they over packaged. I move on after putting the case on my phone to a smaller squishy packaged addressed to me...i didn't order anything squishy. I rip open the package..its this shirt. It took me a moment to realize what it was.
Side note: All cameras read everything in 18% grey, and photographers use grey cards to meter the lighting situation they are in to get a correct exposure. The shirt is a giant grey card.
Back to the story. I call my mom. She has no clue. I call my dad, nothing. I have received a shirt that no one in my family knows about. I have come to the conclusion that i have a secret admirer that knows something about cameras and nothing about me...i wear a large...not an extra large. But i simple called the company and asked them to send me the correct size, no big deal.
Long story short, thanks to whoever sent this shirt to me, its awesome to receive a gift like this out of nowhere for the heck of it :)
Love you all and thanks for the support :)

I'm slowly working my way around the car. I've moved a foot or so from the wheel (Shots here and here) to the badge on the front left wing.
I'm enjoying using the single strip box with a mask, effectively making it a 130cm x 15cm sliver of light. It brings out the shape of the body work so nicely. I also positioned the light so that it's reflection completely filled the front face of the badge.
