These ducklings are now big enough that the parents took a nap at the waters edge while these little ones fed and played. They did like to stick together for the most part.
You know how it is, you've spent an age getting set up for your shot; tripod up, test shots, filters, remote shutter attached... and just as you're about to shoot a couple walk right in front of you.
As it happens, I quite like how it turned out, so I didn't bludgeon them with my tripod :-)

Lo sbarco in Normandia (nome in codice operazione Neptune, parte marittima della più ampia operazione Overlord) fu una delle più grandi invasioni anfibie della storia, messa in atto dalle forze alleate durante la seconda guerra mondiale per aprire un secondo fronte in Europa, dirigersi verso la Germania nazista e allo stesso tempo alleggerire il fronte orientale, sul quale da tre anni l'Armata Rossa stava sostenendo un aspro conflitto contro i tedeschi. L'invasione iniziò nelle prime ore di martedì 6 giugno 1944 (data conosciuta come D-Day in inglese e Jour-J in francese), quando toccarono terra nella penisola del Cotentin e nella zona di Caen le truppe alleate aviotrasportate, che aprirono la strada alle forze terrestri. All'alba del 6 giugno, precedute da un imponente bombardamento aeronavale, le fanterie sbarcarono su cinque spiagge.
