A fly past of one of these little birds, of which there are large numbers on the Fresh Marsh at the moment.
I make myself laugh when I think of this one. These 6 trees have caught my attention for days. And I was thinking, "no Gary...enough of the trees already." But, I see these trees just as I see people. They are really all very different, but really, ....just the same. And to my 'new' photography and friends, its very early...but, I see this as you out there with me....I look forward to seeing what life you have captured.

The town of Wünsdorf was once the largest military base in Europe. The town was the headquarters of the Soviet forces in communist East Germany and had a population of 60,000 people, 50,000 of whom where soldiers. When the Soviet army left in 1994 the population dropped to just 6,000.
The town’s history as a military base dates back to before World War one. It was the headquarters of the High Command of the Germany army during World War II, and was a garrison town long before the Soviets moved in.
Wunsdorf was a closed town during the time it was occupied by the Soviet forces, and effectively became a Soviet town in the heart of Germany. A daily delivery via a direct rail link from Moscow allowed the town to isolate itself from the surrounding areas, having its own shops, theatre, leisure facilities and hospital.
The Haus Der Offiziere had it's own leisure facilities such as a theatre and swimming pool. A giant statue of Lenin stands tall in front of the central building.

Im schönsten Abendlicht kam dann noch das übliche Gotthardgespann: eine Re 10/10 mit der 11679 an der Spitze.
I'm pretty excited about this image...and one other that I'll be posting a little later on. Compare my photo to one posted on-line by a local newspaper photographer. I studied his very, very carefully as it seemed almost too similar. They are different...but just barely! LoL

"For a long time, she held a special place in my heart. I kept this special place just for her, like a 'Reserved' sign in a quiet corner table in a restaurant. Despite the fact that I was sure I'd never see her again"
Where might President Bobby Kennedy and Nobelist Martin Luther King have led us, had not assassins’ bullets stolen their voices, blocked their journeys, and replaced growth with decay?

Day two of the holiday and I found a 6.......
Not yet seen one on the road, but saw another good Renault just a few minutes later.
