I want to take a photograph like a watercolor painting.
Glad the lady thinks this is amusing.I have never seen the run round move at Grantham for the Rectory tanks. There must not be a headshunt in the sidings because the loco runs out on to the up main before dropping down through platform 4,and back into the sidings at the North end.

(Continuation of story)
While in Colombo, I managed to locate a maze of little shops still selling items that made the island a favorite among the ancient traders of the world. The small shops on the narrow streets of Colombo seem to call out, “Look we sold sapphires here.” Sparkling exotic gemstones have always caught by eye. I found a superb moonstone I couldn’t resist
.
After leaving Colombo, my driver and I assended up old winding roads to the green hillsides of the Highlands to see the ancient cities and tea plantations. I knew Sri Lanka was known for exporting tea. Seeing a tea plantation was high on my list of things to experience. Tea terraces perched on top of hills are a grand spectacle.
In 1824, the British brought the first tea plant to Ceylon from China. By1867, 19 acres of tea plants were planted in Kandy. By 1965, Sri Lanka became the world leader in exporting tea.
After a week or so in the cool magnificent highlands, we slowly descended the unending twisting roads. Along the way breath-taking views were commonplace until we reached the southern tip of the tear-shaped island.
This is Marie, whom I met whilst photographing at the Slottsfjell music festival in Tønsberg.
She was very outgoing and smiling, and she instantly agreed to being photographed.
Technically I really messed this up, and had to edit the image a lot afterwards. To compensate for the strong light behind her, I tried to give the image an over all "little to bright" feel. Not sure if I succeeded, but at least the image has a summerly and positive feel about it.
