Strangers to me. They saw me when I was taking street photography and hanging around. I asked them whether they would like me to take a photo of them and they were happy to have one. And here it is.

The Morgan that was reflected from a chrome hubcap in the previous photo. From looking briefly on the web I think it is from the 1970s, maybe earlier, and is a 4/4 model. The street rod is on the other side but I chose to take this from a low angle. The light was quite harsh and I did my best to soften it up a bit. A very beautiful car. It has an antique car plate.

Contrary to the early statement of family ownership, Morgan is now owned by a recently established corporation and it seems the grandson of the founder was forced out.

The Morgan Motor Company is a family-owned British motor car manufacturer founded in 1910 by Henry Frederick Stanley Morgan. Morgan is based in Malvern Link, an area of Malvern, Worcestershire and employs 163 people. Morgan produced 640 cars in 2007, all assembled by hand. The waiting list for a car is approximately six months, although it has been as long as ten years in the past. A visitor centre and museum feature exhibits about the company's history from Edwardian times until the present day, developments in automobile technology, and a display of automobiles. There are also guided tours of the factory. [Wikipedia]

Creation is not a past act of God; it is a present activity of God. Therefore, when we search for the reason for creation, we do not need to speculate about some past and distant origin point; we need only look around us. If we do, and do so in sufficient depth, we go past gratitude for good fortune, past amazement at being alive, and reach astonishment at being at all.

I came across this man sitting down in Noumea under some cool trees trying to escape the heat of the day. He had a really fascinating face to me so I had to ask him for a portrait even though I wasn't getting a very friendly mood from him.

I walked up and gestured towards him with my camera and gave him a smile. He stared directly at me for 4-5 seconds, the expression on his face not changing in the slightest. He curtly nodded his head so I quickly knelt down and snapped this frame, luckily I had set my camera up before approaching him!

I thanked him and he just nodded again and looked away uninterested. I walked a few steps and checked the picture on my camera, when i looked back he had already left.

It wasn't the friendlist encounter I've had so far but I love this photo. His uncomprimising attitude is shown in spades here and I feel like it's a really honest capture.
