The SMG-49 is a heavy water cooled, .45 ACP submachine gun. It feeds from a 40 round helical magazine. The cooling has all the parts inside of the gun including the tubes from the tank to the cooling jacket, and the motor that runs the pump. The lid on the jacket allows for more water, ice or other liquids ;).

WHW Day 4, On the Old Military Road over Kirk Craig

Holland, flat and grey...

Happy B**** Wednesday! ;-)

(see Jones, I can go without using "that" word! :-)

What:

Old Antique 1949 Chev

Where:

Somewhere along the south shore of Nova Scotia, Canada

When:

Last weekend, Dec.14,2008

About the shot:

I met up with Sadegh and Terry Sunday morning to take a drive along the south shore to do a little bit of shooting. The weather and lighting condition weren't great for photos really but it was good to get out with a couple of the guys from the photoclub and figured we could scout a few spots for future outings. Well eagle-eyed Terry spotted an old car next to a farmhouse so of course we stopped to check it out.

While we we're shooting the cars (this isn't the one visible from the road, it was in the back yard) the neighbor came over and chatted we us for a while. He told us that the fella drove this up until last year when his passed away. Sad really. It made me think that they may have had this car when they we newly-weds almost 60 years ago. Imagine the places they must have been to during the years driving along in this old Chevy.

What I learned:

When you plan to go shoot something in particular keeps your eyes open and camera ready because often the best shots aren't the ones you originally planned to take.

You:

I appreciate all comments, tips, questions & faves! No need for glitzy awards, your "real" comments are much better!

Volunteer (Stranger 49)

I took a picture of one of the volunteers of the Friends of the Sint Jacobskapel association in Nijmegen. Departing pilgrims on the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela can receive a blessing (and a stamp in their pilgrim pass) in the chapel on departure here. The man in the photo (I forgot to ask his name) is one of the volunteers who can tell interested parties something about the old chapel that was built in Nijmegen in the 15th century. As a volunteer he can be found there almost every Saturday, serving coffee and showing the way. In the small room, the light from the stained glass windows shone nicely on his face. A good time for a photo.

This is the 49th photo from my 3rd round of the 100strangers project.

If there was a song to suit this car it would be LMFAO's "Sexy & I know it"!

I had shoulder surgery on Friday. All is well.

Back home again, it feels weird, even though I've been only gone for a week.

Yeah I missed yesterday but I just don't feel like taking pictures lately and ughh no inspiration.

I've felt better.. oh well, at least spring is coming :D

I know, this is kinda dark (as in, literally, dark... :P)

Getting ready for a run. This is yours truly putting on her trusty trainers for a weekend run. Used a tiny tripod and self-timer. I'm really into long distance running and I do think my health benefits from it.
