i've been watching you look at a locket from your mother or perhaps its from a girl you don't speak of.

do you find it hard to eat when everything reminds you of her stilly ghost?
so, to captains of my captain, how can i become a captain, & get the strength i need to pull this one around?

i was a lion today.
when i am with my mother, i am always a lion.
i protect her like it's my only job in life,
which is what i essentially see it as.
i drove her to another doctors appointment today where we received good & bad news.
the bad news that her chemo is delayed another week turned in to good news anyway, seeing as i wouldn't want to drive her up to buxmont in the morning in the snow.
today was stressful, it was emotional, it was busy.
but it was all worth it when she turns to me in the car, sleepy & worn out and tells me,
“i'm so glad you're here with me. i feel good, i'm happy. i had such a good time with you, sweet baby.”
i feel good, i feel proud.
because I am a lioness, and i protect my own.
tell me what your worst fears are. i bet they look a lot like mine. tell me what you think about when you can't fall asleep at night. tell me that you're struggling. tell me that you're scared. no, tell me that you're terrified of life. tell me that it's difficult to not think of death sometimes. tell me how you lost. tell me how he left. tell me how she left. tell me how you lost everything that you had. tell me that it ain't ever coming back. tell me about God. tell me about love. tell me that it's all of the above. say you think of everything in fear. i bet you're not the only one does.
everyone in the world comes at some point to suffering. i wonder when I will. i wonder.
everyone is out searching for someone or something. i wonder what I'll find. i wonder.
