Me and Francesa went to go see 500 days of summer and it was really good!
But tonight ended really ironic. It was such a weird night but i had a lot of fun.
So flickr i couldn't really decide on this one or the one in the comments. What do you think?
Standing on the Park stop in Beamish Museum's town street is the newly arrived Blackpool & Fleetwood 40.
This car was built in 1914 as one of the final batch of four "box" cars to be added to the B&F fleet of fifteen such cars, the other eleven having entered service in 1898/99.
The Blackpool & Fleetwood transport operation was absorbed into Blackpool Corporation Transport in 1920 and this car was renumbered 115. It continued with BCT until it's withdrawal from passenger service in 1937, after which it was used for a time as a works car.
The car was donated to the National Tramway Museum at Crich in 1963 and was one of the first electric cars to carry passengers at the museum. However, it has been on long term loan to Heaton Park Tramway and Blackpool Corporation for many years. It is now in Beamish for the 2019 season and is expected to be in regular use there.

West Vale / Greetland, near Halifax
Class 40 40014, formerly Antonia, backs into the small oil yard at West Vale, near Halifax. The nameplate mountings are still visible. The terminal still exists (2014) but no longer served by rail. The engine was withdrawn in November 1981

Highway 40 in the middle of Arizona.
I used a circular polarizer filter to bring out the clouds and a fill in flash so the sign would light up.
There's a story to this one. It's 1985 and at the end of a weeks 'Freedom of Scotland' ticket with three mates, we 'get the gen' that 40122 is allocated to work a Stranraer to Carlisle relief on the Saturday morning.
Unfortunately it went to the outpost as empties, so we found ourselves at a busy Glasgow Central on the Friday evening aboard the 17.30 dmu to Stranraer. On arrival, we found the only accommodation in the entire town was at the wonderful 'Golden Cross' pub. Only problem was four of us had to share 'the family room' - two singles claimed by the quickest up the stairs after copious pints of 'Youngers No. 3' and a double for the other two !
Nevertheless we survived and were at Stranraer Harbour station next morning to board the 10.25 relief to Carlisle seen here in pouring rain, the train as expected, patronised chiefly by the bashing fraternity. 13th April 1985.

AS11-40-5874 (20 July 1969) --- Astronaut Edwin E. Aldrin Jr., lunar module pilot of the first lunar landing mission, poses for a photograph beside the deployed United States flag during Apollo 11 extravehicular activity (EVA) on the lunar surface. The Lunar Module (LM) is on the left, and the footprints of the astronauts are clearly visible in the soil of the moon. Astronaut Neil A. Armstrong, commander, took this picture with a 70mm Hasselblad lunar surface camera. While astronauts Armstrong and Aldrin descended in the LM the "Eagle" to explore the Sea of Tranquility region of the moon, astronaut Michael Collins, command module pilot, remained with the Command and Service Modules (CSM) "Columbia" in lunar orbit.
Company A was constructing this section of the Friendship Highway, Route 23 (So named after the Royal Thai Army's 23 Eng. Bat. also working on the roadway)..
