We left Long Beach headed for West LA, Fairfax district. I was relegated to the backseat of my daughter's F250 crew cab with nothing to do. Bored, just watching traffic, I saw this coming up on the south side of the freeway. Grabbed my camera, rolled down the window and shot this while blowing down the north bound side of the 405. I was surprised that I caught this shot. This is my Sigma 18-200 IS lens.
I wish I could give the photographer his rightful acknowledgment for this shot. She is a beautiful baby girl and the photographer did one heck of a job. This is a Hyundai advertisement.
Now I want a camera that can DO THAT!!!! My poor 30D can only enlarge to 16X20's. Santa?????
Just a quick break from the waterfall shots. This is the underbelly of I-405. This freeway is in downtown Portland. The shot is heavily processed. I was going for an effect with the shot and I think I achieved it.

The spoils from a beautiful Saturday afternoon walk. Mikey and I had some errands to run in Apgujeong today and the weather was so nice (albeit still crazy cold with a high of 39) that we spent the day walking around Garosu-gil, a beautiful street lined with bakeries, vintage shops, cafes and florists. We stopped by one of our favorite sandwich shops, Heinzburg Deli, to pick up some of their crunchy, chewy bread. We also stopped by a little florist and picked up some potted herbs for our kitchen. Mikey got some sweet new shirts and I found an adorable pair of boots IN MY SIZE!! Successful Saturday!
IC 405 - The Flaming Star Nebula.
As seen from the backyard through light polluted skies. Taken with the modified Pentax K10D camera on a couple of dark, cold nights. There were some great clear evenings and then there were some times when clouds were around. Not quite finished with this stack yet.
So far, this is a stack of 20 lights, each 10 minutes long at 400 ISO. I used a Baader Moon and Skyglow filter and UV/IR filter as well. Camera temperatures were mostly in the 6-8C range. Scope used was the Stellarvue SV4.
Calibrated with Maxim with 21 darks, 24 flats (albeit flawed as dust moved around), and 256 bias frames. Because the lights were of great variety of intensity due to sky transparency changes over the nights, I think there's a lot of noise introduced.
Stacked as a mosaic in DSS. Cropped because of the noise issues and flat problems.
Processed with PixInsight.
