After morning workout, Beth and Rebbeca got a chance to build and decorate a gingerbread house. I hope they didn't eat too much candy or they'll have to do extra conditioning to make up for it :-)
I got the Gingerbread House this past weekend at The LEGO Store :-) (set 40139)

The only details that came with this negative were Class 40 near Oxford which I think is just about feasible for the mid 60's. Can anyone confirm the location by the 6 tracks? The headcode of 8V55 would suggest the train is heading south. The loco number looks like D338 or 339 to me which fits the split headcode boxes.

40139 whistled into Huddersfield a couple of minutes early with the 08.53 Blackpool N.-Newcastle and nine Mark 1s and I took a shot of it leaving with a fair complement of enthusiasts enjoying that English Electric sound! This loco had been one of my favourite '40s' since 1965 when, one evening working the down 'Emerald Isle Express' from Crewe as D339, it was unusually paired with D336 and, after leaving Crewe 23 minutes late, fairly rocketed along the north Wales coast line and reached Holyhead only 2 or 3 minutes down!
