Winner of Bafta Award for television animation serial

Mr.A.Karthikeyan is the winner of Bafta Award for doing an animation Television serial Red Fox and his team got the SFX National Award for Aalavandan, Tamil Movie. He has worked in 2D and 3D Kannada, Tamil and Hindi films including a few television series as an animator. Karthikeyan has completed his B.Sc Visual Communication and he is presently pursuing his M.Sc Visual Communication at Annamalai University. He has the technical knowledge in free hand outline and model drawing and has completed a related course from Tamil Nadu Government Technical Board.

His mode of painting consists of oil colours and water colours. His personal skill and talent in art consists of pen and pencil art, portrait, concept art, story board, Lay-out, character design, anatomy drawing. Classes in drawing and painting are also taken by him. He has software knowledge including MAYA (Character Animation). Karthikeyan had worked as a 2D Animation Director at Pyramid Infotainment Ltd, Valluar Kottam, Chennai. He was an Animation Supervisor for Games Shastra Solutions based at Hyderabad from January 2007 to 2009. He was a 3D Animator for I Power Animation Studio based in Chennai from November 2005 to 2006.

Karthikeyan worked as a senior animator in Til Solutions (Total Infotainment) from August 2001 to 2003. He also was the senior animator in Data Quest from 2003 to 2004 and a senior animator cum team leader for Semanoor Technologies from 2004 January to October 2005. At Millitioon Animation Studio, Adyar Karthikeyan did animation projects for television series in foreign channels. He has done a number of classical animations for serials, namely- Pense Betes, Celestin, Red Fox, Vampire, Pirates and Aliens and Zoo Lane. At Til Solutions Karthikeyan did 2D animation feature films for various clients including Milt Vallas, Scaramoosh and Cartoon Network.

At Data Quest Karthikeyan worked on projects titled Potatoes and Dragon and Pet Pals. He did television serials in foreign channels for Alphanim Animation Studio, France and for Titaly Animation Studio in Australia. Apart of being a expert animation and talented artist, Karthikeyan enjoys listening to music, and watching National Geographic and Discovery Channel.

His first solo art show titled Indian Freedom Fighters in on at La Galerie D’Expressions, Hotel Ambassador Pallava, Montieth Road Egmore from 16th to 28th February 2013. About 80 paintings in pen and ink medium are displayed at the gallery. All the paintings are excellently done in a realistic manner by Karthikeyan, despite the fact that he is physically challenged. Karthikeyan is the perfect example for hard work, dedication and striving towards success in life. Karthikeyan resides at Sidco Nagar, Villivakkam.

This is a frame from an animation project I was hired to help work on back in 2009.

Regal Entertainment Group, which owns Regal Theaters, Edwards Theaters, and United Artist Theaters, wanted to have their old Roller Coaster Policy and Presentation trailer modernized and upgraded to 4k resolution. The project was managed by SmithGroup Communications.

One of the elements I created was the (roller-coaster) train's dashboard, seen at the beginning of the animation. It was built and rendered using Lightwave 3D. All the animated screens and readouts were created in After Effects as animated sequences and UV mapped onto their given "screen" areas. The finished rendered dashboard element was then comped into the final animation via After Effects.

Cybers are basically all the rockaholic lifestyles and otakus combined. They dress like they found a time machine and lunged into the future then came back with what they found. They still remain nihilistic, wildly imaginative and deeply creative whilst keeping original as much as physically possible. They love things like futurism, science-fiction and halloween especially dark entertainment. The average cyber wears synthetic locks, silk shirts, striped gloves, spandex bondage pants and riot boots. Instead of having black eyeliner like the modern rockaholic they go for red, cybers still however wear the black nail varnish. They also don the surgical mask with strange stitch designs on them. They are hardcore clubbers and endless grit guitar lovers that delivers that growling guitar sound.

During my visit to Nuit Blanche I was lucky enough to cross paths with artists of many stripes. The installation at PDA Projects on Ottawa's Elgin Street was a hub of activity where the Montreal based multi artist collaborative En Masse was working.

One of those artists was Julien Deragon an artist from Montreal. Julien has a full time job as a 3D Animator, he learned his craft at a Montral CGEP (my apologies for not remembering the actual school) and now works for a large animation house. He has worked on some very high profile animation productions and is currently working on a new feature that will be released in the new year.

Julien was working at Ottawa's Nuit Blanche as a form of relaxation, he had an easy smile and really enjoyed what he was doing.

Thank you Julien for being a part of my strangers project, he asked me not to mention the names of his projects as they are still in the early stages of production (he did tell me what he was working on).

I wish you well in what appears to be a very exciting career.

We just finished modeling landmarks in 3D from the city of Memphis for Radiate Media. Wow, what a fun and fast paced 3D project. RDC had a blast working on Memphis and cant wait until the next city comes in!
