"Kit" is a little bit of an overstatement. The RapMan comes as a large box of marginally-sorted bolts, assorted hardware, and several laser-cut sheets of plastic, packaged straight from the laser cutter. The build manuals are available online and pretty decent, but still require a large amount of imagination, patience, and common sense.

M3D had a table at Baltimore Comic-Con where, for $299, one can purchase a 3D printer right at the convention. These printers looked small and portable and they were capable of doing some nice 3D printouts.
