No, I didn't 3D print these. They came with my new Solidoodle 2. The screen-printed toothbrush, used to clean ABS dust out of the extruder wheels, is a nice touch. Solidoodle is a class act.
While trying to dislodge a print, I've already managed to gouge the Kapton tape on the printer bed with the metal spatula. I looked like a blind chimpanzee poking at a banana with an Xacto knife. Learning curve, baby..learning curve.
A #3DBenchy printed with zero shells (perimeters) and zero top and bottom solid layers. Only the 25% infill was printed. Sliced with #Simplify3D and #3Dprinted on a #MakerBot Replicator 2 #3Dprinter. Print time: 67 minutes. See video: ift.tt/2iob0Gq Learn more about 3D printing at 3DBenchy.com
This video shows how the Ultimaker 2 3D printer using the Cura slicing software, 3D-prints eight #3DBenchy boats in sequence. One at a time!

Failed 3D prints is something that many 3D printer operators have experienced. The most critical moment during a 3D print usually is the first layer. The model has to firmly stick to the build-platform in order for the 3D model print correctly. The blob you can see here is a #3DBenchy 3D-printed on an FFF 3D printer using standard settings: 0.2 mm/layer and 2 perimeters. The build-plate was not calibrated correctly being too far away from the printhead. The first layer detached from the plate surface resulting in a blob of molten plastic that followed the printhead’s movement. #3dbenchy #3dprinting #3dprint #3dprinter #fail #blob See video: ift.tt/1YYpU5B Learn more about 3D printing at 3DBenchy.com
