I got the shoot for the pictorial all set up, and had a bit of time to waste, so I grabbed some of my favorite people, and we acted like idiots. I love Sundays.

From Mickey at WinOT Facebook - " Regarding the yellow #39 -

IN THIRD PLACE, A CAR THAT ANY RACER WOULD LOVE TO OWN: Kim Harry comes across the line in 3rd place in the race to file entries for this year's Winchester Speedway Old Timers Reunion (July 4-5-6). This beautiful little gem is a 1947 Kurtis Kraft midget powered by the venerable Ford flathead V8-60. The car is over 60 years old, but the workmanship and design is as appealing today as it was when Frank Kurtis and his California gang nailed it together. This car will be on display in the infield at Winchester Speedway and will be making on-track runs during the WOT weekend. You don't want to miss getting a close-up look at the type of car that changed midget racing forever!

It's not every day you see Elvis, at least not Mexican Elvis aka Antonio. I spotted Antonio at Kinder Lake about to take kayak lessons. I watched him as he sat on the steps then getting up to talk on the phone, waiting for an opportunity to approach. Finally, he started walking towards me. I got up from the bench, asked for the photo, and he was all smiles ready to pose.

After a few shots we continued our conversation. I explained to him why I was doing this. I believe what stuck with him is that it's a great avenue to meeting new people. He was actually attending a Meetup group so he's no stranger to meeting strangers. Antonio is a musician who DJs pro bono as a way to give back to the community. He says he tries to connect with people through music himself and that's why he finds the 100 strangers project fascinating, even mentioning he might have to go out and buy a camera to do it.

He hails from Mexico. Moved to California when he was 7 and now makes Houston his home. He can't get enough of Thai food, he says his girlfriend got him addicted to it. LOL.

It was a pleasure to meet you Antonio.

This picture is #39 in my 100 strangers project. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the www.flickr.com/groups/100strangers/.

A record 14,500 runners took part in the 2013 Dublin Marathon, which began at Upper Fitzwilliam Street at 9am and finished at Merrion Square North. Sean Hehir won the 34th annual event, with a time of two hours, 18 minutes and 19 seconds. Maria McCambridge was the fastest woman, crossing the line after two hours, 38 minutes and 53 seconds. This was the first double Irish win since 1993. Claire McCarthy finished second in the women’s category with a time of two hours, 39 minutes and 30 seconds.

While there was a record number of people taking part in the event there was a very obvious absence of elite runners from Africa because the organisers were forced to cut the elite race fund entirely due to lack of sponsorship.

Catching up from having been away!

Sooo, I brought my camera to camp with me, buuuuut, I forgot a memory card -_- So I don't have any pictures of the whole weekend D: UGH. So you'll get swamped with some old film stuff I never uploaded, yaaaay.
