Leipzig. Bei schönstem Wetter mit Sonne und Temperaturen bis zu 13 Grad ist am Sonntag der 39. Leipzig-Marathon gestartet. Die Strecken für rund 10.000 Teilnehmer aus 75 Ländern waren zum Teil schon ab Samstagabend gesperrt. Tekalegn Tebelu Abebe aus Leipzigs Partnerstadt Addis Abeba holte sich mit einer Zeit von 2:21:53 bei den Männern den Sieg in der Gesamtwertung.
Bartosz Olszewski aus Polen liegt mit 2:25:16 auf dem zweiten Platz, gefolgt von Landsmann Jakub Szymankiewicz, der die Königsdisziplin in 2:27:00 absolvierte. Danach folgt Maik Willbrandt vom Team BMW SC DHfK mit einer Zeit von 2:27:57.
Bei den Frauen lief Juliane Meyer vom Team BMW SC DHfK die 42,195 Kilometer in 2:57:35. Katja Borggrefe von Turbine Halle startet durch zum zweiten Platz mit einer Zeit von 3:06:54. Die Österreicherin Anna Zauner schaffte es mit 3:22:03 auf den dritten Platz.

In the summer of 2013, Norwich will be home to some unusual visitors - Nelson and his gorilla friends will be creating an amazing impact on the city’s streets for 10 weeks.
This glorious parade of gorilla sculptures will be decorated in a variety of colourful and exciting artwork created by schools, community groups and professional artists.
Delivered by leading arts and education company Wild in Art and local charity Break, the gorillas will be building on the success of the Go Elephants parade in 2008. Residents and visitors will be able to follow the trail around Norwich’s streets, parks and open spaces.
Sponsored by local businesses, the GoGoGorillas sculptures will excite, delight and raise significant funds for charity when they are auctioned off at the end of the parade. The chosen charities for 2013 are Break and the Born Free Foundation.

The light on her face is the result of a "soft gobo". By that, I mean I had a textured object in between a flash I held and popped to camera left, but the flash was too close and the gobo too far from her, so it's not a very crisp texture, but I like it!

#009 /100 - Bradd Dalziell
This picture is #009 in my 100 Strangers project.
Bradd Dalziell is an Australian rules footballer for the West Coast Eagles in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was initially drafted to the Brisbane Lions with selection 52 of 2007 AFL National Draft from the East Fremantle Football Club in the West Australian Football League.
He was traded to the West Coast Eagles for Brent Staker and West Coast's third round draft pick (#39 overall) at the end of the 2009 season. The deal also saw Sydney's Amon Buchanan move to the Brisbane Lions and Eagle Mark Seaby move to the Swans. Brad was delisted by West Coast at the end of the 2013 AFL season and he returned to his original WAFL team, East Fremantle, where he is currently in stellar form.
