To celebrate my 39th birthday today I ventured out on my 3rd photography outing of the year.

This is the wonderful Pier at Clevedon. Since the Pier was re-built in 1989, over 10,000 brass plaques have been donated to raise funds.

The plaques come in various sizes and can be engraved with an individuals name, a group, club, society or a plaque in memory of a loved one.

Day Thirty-nine, it's Remember My (useless) Youth Day. When I was a teenager, me and (most of) ,y friends were very into RPGs (Role Playing Game). Yesterday I found the box in which I kept all my metal figurines. I remember spending hours playing with those figurines dreaming about epic battles such this one.

IN THIRD PLACE, A CAR THAT ANY RACER WOULD LOVE TO OWN: Kim Harry comes across the line in 3rd place in the race to file entries for this year's Winchester Speedway Old Timers Reunion (July 4-5-6). This beautiful little gem is a 1947 Kurtis Kraft midget powered by the venerable Ford flathead V8-60. The car is over 60 years old, but the workmanship and design is as appealing today as it was when Frank Kurtis and his California gang nailed it together. This car will be on display in the infield at Winchester Speedway and will be making on-track runs during the WOT weekend. You don't want to miss getting a close-up look at the type of car that changed midget racing forever!

It's not every day you see Elvis, at least not Mexican Elvis aka Antonio. I spotted Antonio at Kinder Lake about to take kayak lessons. I watched him as he sat on the steps then getting up to talk on the phone, waiting for an opportunity to approach. Finally, he started walking towards me. I got up from the bench, asked for the photo, and he was all smiles ready to pose.

After a few shots we continued our conversation. I explained to him why I was doing this. I believe what stuck with him is that it's a great avenue to meeting new people. He was actually attending a Meetup group so he's no stranger to meeting strangers. Antonio is a musician who DJs pro bono as a way to give back to the community. He says he tries to connect with people through music himself and that's why he finds the 100 strangers project fascinating, even mentioning he might have to go out and buy a camera to do it.

He hails from Mexico. Moved to California when he was 7 and now makes Houston his home. He can't get enough of Thai food, he says his girlfriend got him addicted to it. LOL.

It was a pleasure to meet you Antonio.

This picture is #39 in my 100 strangers project. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the www.flickr.com/groups/100strangers/.
