CTA 6180 has just left the stub end terminal at Navy Pier circa 1952, and is on Grand Ave. passing under Lake Shore Drive. The car is on a Route 38-Indiana run which will take it to 51st and Indiana on the south side.
At far right there's a Santa Fe boxcar spotted next to the warehouse located along the Ogden Slip.

i was just thinking in my car and remembered this location that always has these puddles through the trail and i'm not sure why i thought of sailboats. just little sailboats in the puddle.

Max (Stranger 38)
Max sat in a corner of the café terrace. Outside, because smoking is not allowed inside. As far as possible in a corner, out of the wind and rain. Coat on. I liked the light falling on his face and asked if I could take a picture. A bunch of friends also came out. “So, is there being filmed? Watch out, he is one of the the crooks of our city”. I thought that wouldn't be too bad, given Max's reaction. I wanted a picture of him smoking. That is, after all, why he sat outside in the cold.

not been there for a couple years, this place is now decorated very bizarrely.. not a fan of the coverings on the bridge, makes it dark and claustrophobic.. but I do like a reflection :D
Once the hire car was in our hands, it was off to Skulte which is adjacent to Riga Airport. This IL-28 has been plinthed here for some time, but I know very little about its history or its construction number.
Whilst there, we struck up a conversation with Nicolai. His English was not as good as the younger generation, but he told us he flew Ilyushin IL-38 maritime patrol aircraft to many places, including Mozambique. Today, he is part of a team that looks after this aircraft which has acted as a monument to those who lost their lives in years gone by - it has been present here since 1977.
He fought to retain the aircraft within an independent Latvia, and eventually won. After all, the Soviet era on Latvian soil is real and part of history.
