An early morning shot of todays ECS 5Z34 0905 Exeter Riverside New Yard to Newport Docks at rest after yesterdays adventures to Penzance.

The sun hadn’t risen high enough to illuminate the yards and the 37 would depart before she gets bathed in sunshine.

Messier 37 is the brightest of the three open clusters in the constellation of Auriga and undoubtedly one of the finest in the sky. It was discovered first by Giovani Batista Hodierna some time in 1654 but this remained unknown until 1984. It was discovered by Charles Messier in 1764 independently. It contains 150 bright stars with a total of approximately 500. It has a magnitude of 6.2 with a diameter of 25 light years. It covers an area of the sky about the size of the Moon. It is at a distance of 4,600 light years.

Woodstock, Ontario Canada's brand new Skate/BMX Park!

When I was a teen here in Woodstock, the cops would bust our butts all the time for skateboarding all over but they would never give us a skatepark.. even after 3 or 4 petitions my friends and I put out. Now that i'm to old, we finally get one... go figure lol....

This is actually a really nice park! all concrete, complete with: Rails, stairs, quarter pipes, rollers, a Spine, ledges, some little whoop-dee-doo's as I like to call them.... and some nice bleachers for parents and friends to sit in to watch everyone ride. No admission, it's open to the public, ride at your own risk! This park is located in the lovely SouthSide Park so it has great scenery with the pond and hills and grass.

Happy Click Click everyone.

Daytrippers at March witness the arrival of the 08.40 Cambridge - Skegness on Sunday 3rd August 1980.

37039 was a March based loco which moved to Scotland in February 1981. It had recently undergone overhaul at Crewe Works and had emerged retaining its bufferbeam skirts and round buffers as well as black headcode boxes. Doncaster Works were turning out 37s in revised condition from late 1979 onwards.

A good time at the seaside was had that day with a party from Fenland 18+ Group I seem to recall.

This is an attempt at restoring a pretty far gone colour slide. Not only was the original over-exposed, but the slide has degraded over the years with what appears to be fungal growth across a lot of its surface.

Getting off Route 37 in Novato on Harbor Drive toward Black Point and the Black Point Boat Launch, the bridge that carries Route 37 over the Petaluma River came into view with the light hitting it just right on an otherwise stormy afternoon.

37403 is seen on the Branch Line Society's 'Technical Cobra' rail tour, 1Z88 Derby-Ponterfact Monkhill. The location is the bridge over the River Calder at Wakefield.

Hadn't been to the billabong for ages so off we went today.

Not as exciting as going to the nearby lakes ( and her big sister lets me know ! ), but Sundays always means lots of picnickers out there today, so no running around loose like during the week.

Pips doesn't care though, she enjoys anywhere I take her, and has her own routine - gah, circuit ! - of what she wants to check out, racing straight to the spots around the billabong, where she's found the big water dragon lizards before, and always very determined to find one..

If and when she does get lucky, there's always a mexican stand off, they just stare at each other and neither moves for a while..

Taken this arvie, almost sooc, but I had to remove a red dot.

Apparently it's called a hot pixel.

Thought they'd sort that out by now..

Wishing you a beautiful week, everyone, and hoping there's more opportunity to come visit .. than last week, that is…

will someone round up those naughty pandas, please…or else I might ask Pip to do it ;) ...

Both the station with its fine canopies and the clean DRS 37 look particularly smart in this view. Dating back to 1964 37218, seen here on crew route learning duties has had a good innings outlasting most of its contemporary diesel designs.
