Ottawa has been hit with a lot of snow lately. This shows the ugly, slushy, dirty side of winter. The shot is of the garbage cans and newspaper boxes in front of the Rideau Centre.

Sunday saw some amazing temperatures, so I just had to go out for a hike. While trying to not tromp along the trail, I caught this little guy or girl (didn't check, sorry!) getting some sun. Had to chase it to get a frontal shot, but wouldn't you know, it perked up for me to make this image. How cooperative of it (I'm sure it wasn't a defensive posture or anything like that haha)
Will submit to www.dpreview.com/challenges/Challenge.aspx?ID=6204 once submissions are open Jan. 29

My mom let me borrow her machine so I could put all that fabric I bought from India to good use. Making curtains for the master bedroom.

VAS (visual art space) offers an amazing opportunity for artists and photographers to showcase their work online through a virtual gallery style. Creating an exhibition is very simple and easy. I am definitely looking forward to exploring other photographers’ exhibitions. Here is mine: www.3dvas.com/galleries/gallery.php?ex=5709
To all my Flickr contacts: I hope to visit your virtual gallery soon too! :)
Not all cities are grey. This is one of the things I love most about living in Birmingham, it doesn't take long to find some green to cheer up your day.
This morning I headed for Ashford in Kent to celebrate my nieces 16th birthday. Despite the gloomy weather earlier this week, the sun came out today which was great as it meant everyone could enjoy themselves in the garden. We all had a great day and most importantly the birthday girl enjoyed the celebrations!
