This is a long exposure of the moon rising over the nearby quarry. It was as orange of a moon as I've ever seen. Also, the long exposure makes it look more like the sun.

And so it begins again - the littlest one has lost her first tooth. She was super brave about it but I, as always, was tipsy turvy in my tummy. She's so big now.

Hoy no he tenido mucho tiempo para fotos. He empezado un plan de entrenamiento (con entrenador personal) que me mantendrá 'ocupado' los próximos 4 meses.
Quién sabe si dentro de 4 meses pondré por aquí algo de los resultados… :P

The ampitheatre at Silchester - a fascinating place not far from here. This is the site of a a huge Roman town which has been excavated by a group of archeologists every summer since 1997. I'm going to get on that dig one of these days!
"A boy needs a Grandpa for man-to-man talks; to go hand in hand on companionable walks. To fix up his toys when they no longer go; to tell him the things little boys want to know. A boy needs a Grandpa, to show him the way; to handle a puppy - to teach him fair play - to impart bits of wisdom he's learned through the years, that it's no disgrace for a man to shed tears. A boy needs a Grandpa, to sit on his lap - and if no one is looking, they take a wee nap. Each wrapped in an aura of love and esteem - each smiling gently at some special dream."

Hmmm.... just viewed this large - best not to!
Sorry I have been so bad at keeping up to date with you all - I've found it surprisingly difficult during the holidays to keep the photos going - I thought it would be the opposite!
What a glorious day! 26 degrees, not a cloud in the sky. Just wonderful! What to do on such a day? I know, I'll go and buy some Christmas crackers!! Yes really - look!!!!!! Aaaaargh!

Lazy Sundays call for hot tea. The AM light got caught in the steam rising from the hot water, and wringing the excess water from the teabag looked too cool to pass up. I also really like the orange note on the left part of the frame.
This is a composite of 11 different images. On the left is the view almost due north, and the right is a bit to the southeast. You can see the city of Hiawassee at the center left, along with Lake Chatuge.
