As expected, my intended full moon photo was thwarted by clouds. But those clouds did give me an awesome late afternoon opportunity. This image is actually seven different shots stitched together with a free program called Microsoft Image Composite Editor. The images were all taken with my new 50mm f/1.8 lens, so I got to have some fun today.

Old face on the tunnel between Jubilee Gardens and the car park. In Saffron Walden, probably one part of the gardens of a grand house? I had been this way before but not noticed the faces among the stones

I shot this yesterday while it was a nice warm 42 degrees; I shot this and another photo. This photo is an example of the type of photos I dread posting because it looks stupid, but I’m posting it because I must…if that makes any sense. Well I'm guessing this is some kind of grasshopper/cricket (is there a difference?). I've been keeping half an eye out for one of these so despite the fact that I wanted a bug-free day, he gets no.167!

26/366: Just a normal day with mah friends.

I am slowly learning how to shoot decent photos by combining my telescope with my DSLR camera. We've had a lot of cloud cover lately, and I had just enough time to get this image during a small break in the clouds.

A brand new little poppy was born in the garden this morning!

I went to school in Tiverton and returned briefly to the town at the weekend. This carving is on the Greenway Chapel.

The first stone Church on the site of St. Peter's in Tiverton, Devon was consecrated in 1073. The tower and much of the chancel date from the 15th century when the Earls of Devon ruled Tiverton from the Castle next door. St. Peter's south aisle and Greenway Chapel were added early in the 16th century. The church suffered much damage during the Civil War. The 19th century brought new industry to Tiverton and this led to a major enlargement and restoration of St Peter's Church

The snow started falling otuside of balcony just right tonight, and I was able to experiment with some slow shutter exposures. The parking lot lighting from afar actually gave the background a nice blue glow, which worked perfectly.
