DESCRIPTION VERSION A - LONG-WINDED
I think last year's 365 featured about 50 photos from my work car park. I've not quite been desperate enough to make it 51, but this is the lane adjacent to it.
It's amazing the emboldening power of a camera and tripod. It's only when I finished and put it away did I realise I'd been standing without a care in a dark alley in a not-particularly-salubrious part of the city centre.
When I worked in a more rural location and could get into the woods at lunchtimes, there was a similar feeling. I'd find myself standing on slippery rocks in the middle of a river in my work clothes, and only when the clasps of the camera bag were clicked shut did it ever concern me how on earth I got there or how I'd get back.

Back home after a short but sweet late afternoon with Chris T and Lee W at Padley. I was on the hunt to shoot a culvert with a waterfall inside. Unfortunately we found the wrong culvert and on top of that we couldn't access it due to the incredible amount of water running down the valley.
I grabbed a few shots of the River meandering it's way down in the dying light and had a great catch up with Chris and Lee whilst I was at it.
More scouring the internet to find the right culvert and maybe wait until summertime to shoot it so I don't drown in the process :)

It's been a very long day travelling back from Malta, unpacking and picking Bruno up from his holiday home. So another desperate last minute one. We brought some maple syrup back from Canada, this is the empty (maple leaf shaped) bottle...well, part of it.

Truth is it gave me the perfect excuse to don this kitty ear hat. But do I really need an excuse?

Here in Christchurch February is normally the driest, sunniest and hottest month but not this year. My rain gauge at home has had at least 135mm of rain and sunshine hours are way down. Fungi are early this year!
And there were only three here - not a crop of four or five or.....

you pour everything you have into the roles you play in the hopes of reaching people.
you hold these little gems in your hands for such a short amount of time and then they are gone.
you have to give them back.
and move on.
but what will i move on to? and where?

ah well... all i know is that right now, right at this moment, life is good.
i'll hang onto that for as long as the fates allow.

Look who I found hanging around the bird feeder this afternoon. As you can see he already had a good feast before I startled him. Poor wee thing. I wish there was some way of letting them know we mean them no harm.
