Out with Pauls Pix 53 on Tuesday to Scotney Castle (National Trust).
It was a bit wet to start with, but the sun came out in the afternoon, along with the dragonflies. It was great fun trying to capture them in flight :)
Day 130/365:
Had to make the most of my wisteria while it's in bloom. This is three images blended together. I put a scarf behind the flowers to improve the background.
Day 247/365:
A succulent in the spotlight today.
Thank you for your continued support and good wishes. My back is improving slowly. I'm still not confident enough to pick my camera up but hope it won't be too long now.

Surprised by the fog layer throughout the city this morning...surprised, but also, you know a bit pleased. (I kind of like fog ya know).

I just got in from shoveling the driveway...again. Sophie just got back from 5 days at Scott's Kennels ( I prefer to call it Scott's Minimum Security Prison for Overindulged Pets).

More messing about. I picked up the decaying sycamore wings yesterday ... I do love free photo props.

Herons fishing on the edge of Dundalk Bay.
I looked up from my work this afternoon and realised that there was going to be a nice sunset so I drove the short distance to the shore and got some photos of the herons and other birds at the waters edge. A nice break from the laptop.
Day 47/365:
My little grandson wanted to help me with my photo today so I asked him to hold the reflector...he was very proud to think he was helping. When I finished editing I showed it to him and asked him what he thought. He said it wasn't cool ;) I asked him what i should call it and he said 'Tom' so Tom it is. I came across this quote and thought I'd do something a bit different for me...especially since I have done similar ME photos before.
Either shredded raw to add to a salad or to be lightly steamed. or maybe roasted with parmesan and garlic? Decisions, decisions. Whatever way it's served asparagus is delicious.

9/52: The weekly challenge - Shapes
I've used these cookie cutters before but decided to use them again...they are pink but I changed the colour to blue in honour of my darling new grandson who of course I am totally, utterly and wholeheartedly in love with! Haha, I know, you'd think no one had ever had a grandchild before and I am probably boring you already!
Day 67/365: 2015
The weekly theme is selective colouring.
I took the parasol out with me in the hope of finding somewhere interesting to photograph it but ended up with this fence. Not sure I'll manage to keep the theme up as I now have RSI from re-colouring! ;) It's quite time consuming too, a great theme though so I'll do my best.
Oh dear, I have just realised that to fit the theme the selective colour was meant to be done in camera, sorry!

Our Magnolia has been flowering for about a week, and already some of the petals are turning brown and falling.
324/365: 2015
It's been a rather busy day today, I'd taken a backup photo but wasn't sure how it looked as my computer was playing up. So whilst on the lookout for another photo, I was burning a candle on the kitchen window sill and noticed the reflection of the flame in the window which gave me an idea. So I lit another candle and hung some fairy lights from a broom handle, by this time my husband was home from work so I asked him to dangle the lights to get the reflected bokeh in the window. I really should have checked to see if the bokeh was above both candles but by this time I was rushing as dinner was almost ready.
I'm having problems with leaving comments on Flickr at the moment...it's a bit hit and miss.

This is my subtle hommage to the 70th celebrations ... a little bee that might produce Royal Jelly and the colour purple that seems to be associated the Jubbly :)
Day 161/365:
I took my camera out today with just my Lensbaby Sweet 35 optic, to try to get to grips with it. It's not my favourite Lensbaby. I overlaid a blurred sea/sky image that I also made today...I used an Omni filter with that one.
Apologies for my lack of comments still. We are away from home and apart from being out and about, the internet here is very intermittent. Plus I have to use my phone as a hotspot and it uses a lot of data. I should start be more involved in few days time.

Chilly, cold and wet sums up the morning. BUT, isn't it exciting that we are one day closer to the release of Star Wars? Yes, I thought so.

I really like the composition of this one and got lucky given I only had to trip the shutter 1 time today. This is not cropped. The reason i like this composition so well is these bushes line the entrance to the parking lot of my workplace. there are 2 rows of about 30 plants in each row. I have worked here for over 6 months. 4 times a day, 5 days a week for 6 month i drive past these bushes and today is the first day I noticed them.

For 30 years, whilst my parents were alive, I put up a huge artifical tree. But when my Dad died in 2014 and Mum went into care, I couldn't face or be bothered much with Christmas.
Last year I spent a whole day getting the big tree out the attic and decorating it, and another day putting it all away, and said never again.
So we bought a little tree and it took me half an episode of Midsomer Murders to sort it out. Still have to riffle through boxes in the attic for a fairy or star to go on top, but this'll do.
Now I think it's wine o'clock and finish watching Midsomer Murders with my feet up :)
Happy Christmas everyone X

The western pygmy blue is one of the smallest butterflies in the world and the smallest in North America. This one is less than 1/4 inch (0.635cm).
They move so fast. This one was very uncooperative and didn't stay in one place for long.

so, it's like this.
i'm leaving NY.
for the next 9 months.
taking a chance on this change and hoping for the best.
when i get back, if all goes well, this will be the view from my apartment window.
went neighborhood hunting today.
i want to get out of the place where i'm living.
too noisy. too busy. too crazed.
so, i found this neighborhood.
believe it or not, this is manhattan.
27 minutes from mid-town madness, you step off the train to... this.
so, here is the goal. a little haven away from the part of NY that gets me down.
the part that depletes me.
this place replenishes what gets spent.
fingers crossed, i'll find something here when i get back.
but in the mean time, i have to start packing.
i leave in three weeks for nine months.
what a life.
