A cat picture of course. Had a bonfire alternative night!

Max and her oldest boy waving goodbye at the airport. Sigh. I was such fun to be with her and her wonderful family.

More photos of the trip once I get caught up.

This photo taken Dec 14 (not date uploaded as shown)

While I was dressed today had some fun trying on some outfits for tomorrow. Wife likes the longer one. My sister has moved out to her own place so she is having a house warming dinner party for a select few and the theme is "Blues Night" so basically you have to come in dressed in blue!

Day 348 of 365 days

Guide Bridge, Friday 24th August 1973. Class 76 1.5Kv DC Electric Locomotives. E26018 and E26047.

NCT's Solo SRs are celebrated to the point that huge crowds turn out every time one is due by, and police escorts have to secure the road for the bus to make its way through. Here is 348 demonstrating just that as it makes its way down Wilford Lane with a 3 - it's a bit of a wonder I managed to get this close to it for a photo.

Okay, the SRs are decent, but far, FAR from being a local cult icon; they're just random buses as far as most people are concerned. What was actually going on was the Tour of Britain cycle race was starting in Bridgford and coming this way, with crowds and several police motorbikes positioned in readiness. The road was only closed for a short while and this was while it was still open, although NCT did have a contingency plan for the 3 if one got caught in the closure for too long.

In the cycling, the whole of the day's stage took place in Nottinghamshire, starting in West Bridgford (and the actual timed racing beginning just before they reached Ruddington) and taking a circuitous route to the east and up into the north of the county, finishing up in Mansfield. It was supposed to be one of the middle stages (5th, I think?) but ended up being the final one this year, because the remainder of the event was cancelled due to the passing of The Queen.

Something doesn't quite add up....I started this project a year ago today, but I still have 17 days to go. I know I've missed a handful of days, but 17? Anyway, it's all good.

Tomorrow is my first day on the new job. Wish me luck! I can't wait :)

Today I went to Hobbycraft and bought some things to decorate my room with. I'm going for a nautical theme.

After that I popped into B&Q and took some samples of pretty wallpaper which I'm going to cut seagull, lighthouse and anchor shapes out of and stick on my wall :)
