we're here!: 100 quotes.
"The soul becomes dyed with the colour of its thoughts." - Marcus Aurelius.
'kay, so...this only really makes sense if you know this one (not-so-)secret about me: i am a nefarious daydreamer.
so i'm not really holding a red umbrella while standing on an ottoman in my living room. really, i'm standing on a cliff edge over a river and i'm either about to walk on water or use the umbrella to help me fly across because i've got Nazgul or other scary things chasing me.
tl;dr: "soul/thoughts" = imagination = daydreaming + red umbrella which is colorful and looks cool = super special awesome photo.
...i dunno. it made sense in my head. (note: i haven't slept for 24 hours.)
Northern Trains 331 008 at Blackpool North Station.
They are mainly 3 car units at the moment, but there are also some 4 car units. Built by CAF in Spain and started appearing in UK service from about July 2019.
I'm in love with this location so much! Unfortunately, it's really dangerous to actually get to it, so I had to do a composite. Not the best, but I had to try something.
Hi guys, this is my new creation that i made to honour one of the greatest Greeks of all time,
The Great Alexander!!
I created a representation of the famous Macedonian phalanx, which was also the main pillar of Alexander's army!
The Macedonian Phalanx was an infantry formation developed by Philip II and used by Alexander to conquer the Achaemenid Empire and other armies. Phalanxes remained dominant on battlefields throughout the Hellenistic period,
first of all the Macedonians, and then of all the States of the Successors and Epigones, for two centuries (mid-4nd to 2nd century BC)
Here you can see a piece of the classic formation, the phalanx was at the center, the archers and the peltasts from behind, and the cavalry march left and right of the phalanges.
History:
The Battle of Gaugamela was the decisive battle of Alexander the Great's invasion of the Persian Achaemenid Empire.
In 331 BC Alexander's army of the Hellenic League met the Persian army of Darius III near Gaugamela, close to the modern city of Dohuk (Iraqi Kurdistan).
Though heavily outnumbered, Alexander emerged victorious due to his army's superior tactics and his deft employment of light infantry.
It was a decisive victory for the Hellenic League and led to the fall of the Achaemenid Empire.
More information you can found here, about Gaugamela and the Macedonian phalanx.

Hmm, 3 out of the last 4 days have been closeup, Urban Acid, on the white backdrop. My creativity is on FIRE!
And I spent over an hour on the photo I WANTED but since I lost the white backdrop right on my profile after an hour of trying to blend it and failing miserably I gave up. I wish I did not suck so bad at editing.
50 Random Facts About Me
#16: I am terrible at balancing my checkbook. Which is pretty stupid considering I am on a budget and make an insurance salary. I often forget the big things, like oh, my car payment, and all of a sudden, oops!
Making up for the other Solo SRs on the 11, 331 has all the branding on the front you'd ever need. Except for all day travel.
Somehow I only had it in this livery on the 87, so to fix that here's 331 on its usual route of the 11, up Arkwright Street on its way into Nottingham on 11.10.21
It's always well worth looking back!! We were leaving the beach this afternoon and it made me feel like walking back down and finishing another couple of chapters!!

I've been seeing all those cute girls on Flickr using their hair to make mustaches, so I thought I'd have a go at it. ;0) I get bonus points for totally embarrassing my son. :)

Here is my Angel Bear. She sits upon the top of our Christmas tree each and every year.
About 5 years ago, I got this idea that I wanted an angle bear on top of the tree, instead of a star or regular angle or anything else. I spent the entire Christmas season looking for her, and when I found her, I knew she was perfect! I have no idea why I wanted an angle bear, its not like I have seen it any where else! Two years ago, I had misplaced her, you know, put her in a safe place and forgot where the safe place was? We have all done that before! Any way, I went out and got a star, that has not seen the tree any other year, because I found my angle bear later that next year. Any way, She is not on the tree yet, because I am not able to reach up that high due to my surgery! I have to ask my man to do what I usually do! So, thats why she is still not in her rightful place.
One thing I liked about this shot, I set her up on a stand, and to the right, was the TV that had some bright stuff flashing, giving her a nice glow to the side. And of course, I had to angel her in a way so you could see her fluffy white wings!
And now, on another note. I am finally starting to get back online, SLOWLY catching up with Flickr friends. However, dealing with the decorating of the Christmas tree yesterday, I seem to have gone TOO far with activity, and pain is becoming my friend again! UGH! That being said, I am planning on taking it easy for a few more days. I am grateful for all of my Flickr friends, and a good handful have still been checking up on me and making my day, over and over again with the kind words and wishes of getting well. Thank you every one for your care and Flickr friendship!
Please, enjoy! No geek talk, just a nifty-fifty moment!
