The first time I've done the extended version of my morning walk for a couple of years. The farmer's not keen on people walking around his field edge. He had some signs up trying to stop people about a year ago...they ended up in the River (nothing to do with me before you get the wrong idea).
I (along with many people) used to walk around the field edge regularly and judging from the clear path that currently exists this has continued since i last went round. I wanted to photograph the pill box on the field edge which I haven't looked at for a couple of years. In the interim it seems to have acquired the "32" graffiti, I have no idea what this refers to...sadly we don't get Banksy round these parts ;-) The quality of the local graffiti has always been disappointing (although it's pretty good at the "skatepark" under the A120)...it's probably all a little too middle class round here.
I've been craving these ever since Matt took me to Cupcake & I had my first one. Then I saw Sazzy's photo of Chef Susan's. So today I tried my hand at Paula Dean's recipe. They turned out so good, I especially like the cream cheese frosting.

Seattle from Gasworks park, didn't turn out as great as i hoped mainly because it was the best sunset ever. Felt a little too plain without any of the nightlights. Had to end up fixing up a lot of this with LR3 and Photoshop because of the vignetting on my lens. Darned kit lens.

Since the move of the 32 from Cricklewood (W) to Edgware (EW), the allocation is made up of Enviro400H with EvoSeti from the 113 being a common appearance. Lately more and more VWs which will later form the 240 allocation have also been on the route but the TEs allocated to the 107 have been less common! Tridents and E400s used to be part of the allocation when at Cricklewood alongside hybrids!
The Type 32 Kaiju is a fully amphibious heavy Infantry Fighting Vehicle that is newly being introduced into the Japanese Marine Corps. While most other nations would simply categorize it as an Assault Amphibious Vehicle, Japan's political sensitivity to such matters precludes it from that classification.
The Kaiju is an impressive vehicle, sporting a 40mm dual purpose cannon and twin ATGMs, and capable of 15 km/h travel in open ocean with a respectable (but classified) range. Carrying up to 13 armed troops into battle, the Kaiju's raison d'etre is primarily defending the highly disputed Senkaku islands. The Japanese Marine Corps was originally going to purchase secondhand AAV7A1s from the United States, but the introduction of far more capable vehicles in the SPAN's naval units ensured that a more modern AFV was needed.
The Kaiju's greatest asset is its dual mode electric-hybrid engine, allowing the vehicle to essentially operate silently and without emissions for its landings, a feature that helps avoid detection until it is too late for the opponents.
