Done one whole week of this shoot, so this starts the second week of October with another Sunday, Bloody Sunday.
Me and Brianna (the model) have had a certain bloody photoshoot planned for over a year now, and I was trying my best to have it for this series, unfortunately it did not work out. SO instead we did this bloody photoshoot, depicting the famous "bloody mary" from that myth where you'd say bloody mary 3 times in the mirror and she'd appear.
Also tried to do a shoot of her with another model, as if that model had called her. But due to this being one of the later shoots ive done this series, and the fact that trying to get the right angles and stuff and make it look like it's a mirror on the wall was quite hard.

James had found the book in an old store full of curiousities, and the descriptor for the book had labeled it
as The Book Of Delights. It had an old fashioned seal on the front of it, and it was captivating. James had to have
it at once. He paid the shopkeeper two hundred bucks for it, and whisked it back to his place.
After pulling it out of the bag, James noticed a very faded inscription on the spine that read 'Liber es Crucio'.
He was so excited to open that book.

*The Golden Hand*

He never paid much attention to the neighbors living on his city block until the day the pretty middle-aged widow moved in two doors down from him. She was plump and dark with sparkling eyes, and she always wore dark gloves on her hands, even indoors.
He went out of his way to meet her, and they often "bumped" into each other in the street and stood talking. One day, as she brushed the hair back from her forehead, he caught a glimpse of gold under the glove on her right arm. When he asked her about it, she grinned coquettishly and told him that she had lost one hand a few years back and now wore a golden hand in its place. In that moment, a terrible lust woke in his heart - not to possess the lady herself, but to possess the solid gold hand that she wore under her long black gloves.
He courted the widow with every stratagem known to him; flowers, trips to the theater, gifts, compliments. And he won her heart. Within a month, they were standing in front of a minister, promising to love one another until death parted them. Within another month, he was a widower and had buried his ailing wife in the local cemetery - without her golden hand. It had been so easy. A slow poison, administered daily to resemble a wasting disease. No one - not his wife, not the family doctor, not their neighbors - suspected murder. And the night after the funeral, he slept with the golden hand under his pillow.
It was a dark night. Clouds covered the moon, and the wind was whistling down the chimney and rattling the shutters of the town house. He was deeply asleep when the door to his room slammed open with a loud bang and a wild wind whipped around the room, scattering papers and books and clothing and table coverings every which way. He sat up, startled by the sudden noise, and his pulse began to pound when he saw a greenish-white light bobbing slowly into the room. Before his eyes, the light slowly grew larger, taking on the shape of his dead wife. She was missing one arm. "Where is my golden hand?" she moaned, her dark eyes blazing with red fire. "Give me my golden hand!"
He tried to speak, but his mouth was so dry with fear that he could only make soft gasping noises. The glowing phantom moved closer to him, her once-lovely face twisted into a hideous green mask. "You stole my life and you stole my hand. Give me back my golden hand!" the dead wife howled. The noise rose higher and higher, and the phantom pulsed with a strident green light that smote his eyes, making them water.
He cowered back against his pillows, and the hard shape of the golden hand pressed against his back. And then he felt the golden hand twitch underneath him as the mangled green phantom that had been his wife swooped down upon him, pressing his face against the pillow in a suffocating green cloud. He tried to scream, but it was cut off suddenly by a terrible pressure against his throat, cutting off his breath. The world went black.
The next morning, when the housemaid came into the room with her master's morning cup of tea, she found him lying dead on the floor, with the golden hand clutched around his throat.

This delightful battery powered, color changing ghost that lights up with different colors has a long story behind it.
It's about 25 years old. I bought it when we still lived in upstate New York. During October we were eating breakfast at a small restaurant across the street from our home. They had several Halloween themed items on display and lo and behold they were all for sale.
I spied this ghost and bought it on the spot, before we even finished our meal. I turned him on while we ate and enjoyed his color changes.
He holds a wire that spells out "Boo," and hanging from the wire is a Jack-O-Lantern, a ghost, a bat, and a piece of candy corn.
Of all of my Halloween decorations I treasure this one the most.
Trick or treat!
Don't forget the rules...

John Carpenter's Halloween (Forty Years Ago Today)

one morning,little sarah went with her parents to a yard sale.her mother gave her some money to buy whatever toys
she wanted, but didnt see anything that she was willing to part with the money to have. sitting on top of an old
box,she saw an old doll with a cute smile on its face. she picked it up,and looked for a price, but found nothing.
she held the doll up, and asked the old man " how much do you want for the doll?" the man looked at her,and then scowled at
the doll,and said "it's free, just get it out of here." She giggled and hugged the doll, saying "thank you mister!"
and ran to join her mother. on the car ride home, she was playing with the doll and noticed a a string coming from the dolls back.
she examined it curiously,and then pulled on it. a whirring noise,and suddenly the doll began to say "4 ...4...4...4...4..."
the doll seemed broken, but she didnt mind. she loved it anyway.
late that night she put the doll on the shelf,and her mother tucked her into bed.
When she woke up in the morning, the doll was laying next to her,staring at the ceiling. "i dont remember taking you to bed" she
said aloud.." it must have been mom." each night for nearly a week the same thing happened.
One afternoon, little sarah hadn't woken up and come downstairs so her parents went to check on her.
"sarah? honey,are you up?" her mother opened to door to see
her daughter lying in a large pool of blood on the bed,the doll ontop of her.
She screamed and collapsed against the bed,sobbing so hard she couldn't speak. as she reached to hug her little girl,
the doll fell to the floor and a noise began to repeat from it " 5...5...5...5...5...5.."

Anne was running late again, a usual thing now that she was working longer weekends. She
wanted that promotion bad,and knew she had what it took to make it to the top of the Advertising
ladder.She juggled her tall latte as she decided to try and cut thru oldtown, and checked her blinking
text message. She never even noticed the 20 mph limit sign, and only barely saw the old scruffy cat
trying to get out of the way of her car. She stomped on the brakes,and lost her grip on her coffee,
swerving to the curb as her tires screeched.She was dabbing at her leg with a towel as she got out of
the car, cursing under her breath. The small crumpled form of the cat lay some 25 ft behind her, its
fur thick with dirt and blood. She sighed deep as she scanned on both sides of the street behind her
car. Nobody had come out,which means nobody had seen her.it was an old cat anyways,most likely a
stray.She needed to get to work,so she got back in her car and put it in drive.As she looked up thru the
window,she jumped at the sight of a wrinkled old woman pointing a long crooked finger at her. her clothes
were old and handmade, her face appeared about to cry,until she parted her lips and snarled thru yellow
teeth. her voice was raspy, yet heavy with anger "Testadiavol ... Testadiavol! " she spoked some other
muttered sentences that Anne could not begin to understand,as she feebly walked to where the dead cat
was laying. Anne felt a shudder go thru her at the encounter,and tried to apologize thru stutters but never
really formed a full sentence. "Bunica!" a young male voice exclaimed behind her,and she turned to see a
boy of no more than 14, run up and stop near the old woman.
"Is she ...your grandmother?" Anne asked, which prompted him to turn and respond with a question of his
own, "Did you do this? " he asked,his face scornful and sad. Anne swallowed hard and stammered," I ..i
tried to swerve,.. i d- , I didnt see the cat in time" She felt flush with embarrassment,wanting nothing more than
to close her eyes and disappear. "Kiki was her oldest friend .." he said,a sorrowful tone turning quickly angry,
"You should have been more careful!" he took a step towards his grandmother, as Anne said " ... She ... she
was saying something to me... Testadavol.. or something?..What was she saying...?" His eyes widened
as he quickly turned to look at her. his look of scorn was replaced of one similar to fear... " how many times did
she say it? " he asked, almost a whisper. "uhm.. i ..." Anne tried to recall, " maybe 3 or 4 times?" ..
He took a moment to think about it,his face growing serious, and he nodded slightly, either in approval or
simply understanding.. " She has cursed you.. called forth a shadow to follow your steps. the only word you
would understand for it is .. thief." Anne shuddered deeply, she had more than enough,and wanted to get out of here.
She gave one last apology and got in her car and left, looking back one last time to see the woman carrying the
cat, the boy walking beside her. before long, she had shaken off the events of the morning,and was busy worrying
about fine print and comprehensive layout.It was only after climbing into bed with her second large glass of wine,
that she even recalled the accident.she thought briefly about the womans pointed finger before she yawned and
was fast asleep.
She awoke to her alarm, the abrasive call to another day and slid out of bed and into the shower. she was toweling off
when she first looked down and saw the her left foot ... pinky toe... was... gone.. Anne stifled a scream. she gasped
and grabbed at her foot, a confused and terrified moan suddenly coming out of her throat.there was no pain around
her foot.. no wound.. no blood. she counted again... 4 .. 4 toes. she was missing a toe. the lack of explanation
made her desperate to wake up.. but she was awake. She was awake and overnight she had lost one of her toes...
just the smooth rounded flesh of her foot in its place.it took her almost half the day to compose herself and make it
in to work. walking only took a little bit of correcting,and she had worn comfortable shoes... but still there was no pain.
She felt as if she was in the haze of a terrible and convincing dream.but the next morning she awoke without another
toe. And another. and another. By the fifth day she had gone to several doctors, her family, boyfriend, and they had all
treated her like she was crazy. The doctors told her that it was as if she never even had any toes, and she was so
upset and unkempt that they gave her some drugs to sleep. But when she awoke in the hospital,she was missing another
toe. One whole foot was now a smooth stump of flesh.they recommended that she be restrained and possibly admitted
to a psychiatric ward.But while outside discussing with her mother and boyfriend,she gathered her things and snuck
out thru the window. Walking was much more difficult, her balance off, her head still swimming thru drugs and the
emotional strain. she called a cab and was home within 20 minutes. She packed a bag and threw it in her car, driving
out onto the highway. She would get as far away from here as she could..
with the aid of pills,Anne made it 4 states away,and almost 3 days awake before falling asleep in her car. she had stopped
to get gas,but had barely turned the car off,when she nodded off,exhausted. she woke up 25 minutes later,in the middle
of the afternoon, and groggily pulled off her shoe. Another toe was gone. she had only one big toe left on her right foot.
For 3 days nothing had happened, but when she fell asleep ... no matter the time, she would lose another. She sobbed
and groaned in her chest, yearning for a release or explanation for her waking nightmare. A few people had gathered to check
on her,and like a crazy person, she had yelled at them, and thrown money at the station clerk,before driving off.
Anne drove a half day to the coast,and very wearily rented a room in a dingy motel. As she collapsed on the bed, she wept
softly, knowing what awaited her when she woke. She had never been so tired before.. never so wracked with exhaustion.
When she awoke, she didn't even need to look down to know it was gone. She sniffed and slowly sat up, taking in the sight
of her perfectly smooth feet. for a long time she stared, reality barely settling into her mind. for weeks she had been on the
edge of sanity at every moment.. confused and helpless. but it was over. As she slumped back onto the bed, a faint air
of relief washed over her. her body ached from crying, but she took a little solace in knowing she could sleep again.
but the next morning she woke,and the smallest finger on her left hand was gone.

The Clock-Keeper visits when you're asleep,
through your dreams he will stealthily creep,
stealing your youth and leaving you cold,
bringing you nightmares about growing old.

This "31 days of Halloween" story is a collaboration between me and my brother,
with him handling most of the writing,and myself, most of the imagery.
We both love the spooky and the Supernatural,and came up with the story idea together.</i

Once back in the States, I got caught up in my return to the daily grind of work and play, and forgot about the box for almost a month. Halloween night came, and with it, my thoughts returned to the mysterious package I had brought back with me. With my wife and Daughter out trick-or-treating It seemed a festive and appropriate way to celebrate the holiday. And so, armed with a glass of wine and a bowl of candy for any trick-or-treaters, I sat down in front of my purchase, and thought only briefly of the last words Mr. Winterschill and Ms. Feathersoft had left me with, that fateful day in London.
"When you open it, the days of Olde will be remade anew" Winterschill had rattled off with barely contained glee. And Feathersoft had added sadly, "Once opened, it can only be shut ,when what it holds is added to."
'Well, here goes' I thought to myself, and with only a moment to expect something hokey inside,i unfastened the latch and gingerly lifted the lid...
