Lots of errands, went to IHOP, and went to my Grandparent's house. Not a very exciting day...
It was Armistice Day yesterday. Its sort of a wierd time of year for us, they say that your senses are a powerful tool in evoking memories.
My Dad died on Armistice Sunday. I think the actual date was the 18th, but we all remember that the various Memorial Services were playing all day on the tv in the Hospice. Despite the time that has passed, its funny how odd little things like Poppys can transport you back to that place.
The weather has been really eratic of late. There were 70mph winds last night and rain on and off during the day. There were some amazing rainbows that we could see through the windows at work.
I shot this from my desk- I altered the saturation of the rainbow whilst experimenting and I was amazed at how clear the bands of colour were, so I kept it and tinkered with layer masks.
I really like this image.

Shot with iAuto on. Most of the time iAuto seems to get the settings right, but there are inevitable hickups, overexposure being the most common of them. Sometimes the clashing contrasts and the lack of Spot or Middle light measuring make it do very long and very short exposures, leading to messed up shots.
Since there were no previews of this camera, nor any preview shots of how it acts, I'ma make a bunch of them. Please check the images for more opinions on the VR-310.
//Update: I no longer have the VR-310. In a nutshell, it's a fine camera for everyday, travel or vacation shooting, but lacks many controls required for more advanced photography. The build is solid, and it's easy to use. The biggest flaws are the placement of the flash, and a bit clunky macro-system.
