Finally some fall color. I think the lack of rain, we have barely gotten any in months, is affecting leaf color. Trying to stay off my foot as much as possible in the hopes it will heal so Rocko and I had a short am walk and went to the dog park for our evening walk.

In Finland, All Saints' Day, or All Souls' Day, or the day of the dead, however it is called is celebrated on the first Saturday between Oct 31st and Nov 6fh. It's a day of remembering passed away family members and friends, by taking a special candle to their graveside. Some people take flowers, too, although in this weather they don't have a long life anymore. Spruce twigs, and heathers are typical decorations around the candles this time of the year.
We took a walk in the big cemetery, and were surprised by the number of flickering candles everywhere. We haven't gone before, as we don't have any family buried here. Unfortunately, I didn't really manage to capture the 'sea of lights' in the darkness as I wanted. This picture is of the joint memorial of fallen soldiers of the winter war.
