Scans of some of my recently discovered railway photos. Some will feature in my Amberley book British Rail in the 1980s and 1990s Electric Locomotives, Coaches and EMUs.
Irvine Beach is real long with great sand, normally not too busy, apart when Students from Glasgow decide to have a mass jolly, as seen here with the beach starting to get busy on a Bank Holiday Saturday.
Irvine Train Station is about a 30 minute Train ride from Glasgow Central Train Station, then it is about a 1 mile walk from Irvine Train Station to the Beach with a number of snack shops and diners along the way.
There is a small Car Park out on the beach there where you can park in Storms for an increadible experience.
