I get the same feeling about spring like i do about the first snow fall of winter: giddy with the desire to just stare out the window for hours, except this time i actually went outside!
Surprisingly i never actually took a puddles picture! I even went out in public! :P even though dispite a few cars, there wasnt actually much public, but im glad i went out and took pictures today, the weather turned out lovely!
Oh wow, and i didnt even talk about this week! Its been pretty wonderful- and busy! Finally, after months of rehearsal, i performed in my schools play and i actually had more than 2 lines this time! I had a good supporting role actually and im so sad its over, but so thankful to have had this experience!! I also got to go to my schools semi formal for a bit after my last play, since it got moved after a snow storm, its been a really nice week that ill remember foundly :)

Then you are 80 years old, perfectly healthy, never visited a hospital and suddenly you get a cerebral infarction and you are lying in a bed with all kinds of tubes. It happened to Jan. After a few days in hospital, he was able to recover. And nowadays he walks a long way every day on the dike along the IJssel. He takes his crutch with him, not that it's necessary, but more just in case, just in case. He has plenty to see along the IJssel. As an old sailor (he has sailed all the world's seas) he pays particular attention to the passing ships. But those are not seagoing vessels. When he was a sailor, he still moored with his ship at Vuyks, on the wharf along the IJssel. And now he lives there, overlooking where the yard used to be.
This is the 30th photo of my 4th round of the 100strangers project. I like doing it, that's why it's already the 4th round.

While on a little mini-vacation to Arizona, I spent the morning with my Nikon at the Phoenix Botanical Gardens. Such a beautiful place. After a few hours of shooting, I stopped in at the attached restaurant, Gertrude's. Being by myself, I decided to sit at the bar where i fortunately met Matthew who was extremely upbeat and enthusiastic, making excellent suggestions for food and wine.
Matthew is from Oklahoma and is a photographer himself. He is looking forward to making his way to Colorado this summer to work in the same hotel they filmed "The Shining" at (one of MY favorite movies by the way!). He hasn't been to the mountains yet, and is looking forward to it.
He shoots Canon and actually had his camera with him behind the bar since he would be shooting a band in a local Irish bar later this evening. He was very happy to share some of his shots with me on his tablet. He had quite a few interesting night shots with light painting. He made some good suggestions on shooting the gardens at night which I will be doing this evening.
Enjoyed our conversation, Matthew. Thanks for participating in my project and allowing me to get that bottle of my home town vodka, Titos, in the picture! Good luck with your photography and your travels! You have such a great attitude, I just know you will do well!

This is Tom (on the right) and me on Dartmoor - where we thought we'd try to re-create a photograph I took of us both 30 years ago. I think the result was... well, quite successful really! As in 1978, I set the camera on a timer mechanism.

SOOC, I was still ill and whiny the 30th, so I didn't go outside even though I had a feeling there were great light to find.

Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackloth, and girded me with gladness;
Day 30/366 - January 30, 2008
I realized I haven't had a James picture yet for my daily picture (but I've had two of Emma), so here's my sweet baby boy! He's so beautiful!!!
Day 30 of 366.
Its my wifes mug, not mine.
I thought I should just make that clear.
I was trying to do a pic with the mug steaming but I couldn't get the lighting quite right.
