This appeared to be a very late entry, just pulling up to the back of the line-up of show cars as I had done my first lap of the exhibits.
Not something I've seen before, but looks very nice and I was pleased to see it, as I don't recall seeing very many of these at all in the metal.

Seen earlier in the year at a show, it was satisfying to see it outside of that environment as well however, good to see it is still used. Despite the need for a light clean, it does look in pretty good order, and remarkably straight for its age too.
You probably have your own favourite drug of dependence.
You may or may not have a favourite drug dealer.
What is certain though, is that drug dealers have a favourite car. And that car is the Chrysler 300C. Best in black with big shiny wheels, so the cops don't know you deal drugs.

The 300C has a couple of key things going for it.
1. Subtelty
2. Speed (not the diesel, but there are plenty of hot engines available)
3. Big luggage area (bodies, or for drugs)
4. Mechanical reliability - chassis is old school Mercedes-Benz, and the latest ones have the lovely ZF 8HP Auto trans.
If you needed more space than the sedan, there was also a wagon available, but this model was not continued into the update offered in 2012.

At first glance the 300C doesn't look much different to the preceding 280C, and it's boxy looks were a bit out-of-kilter with other big cars of the time (certainly those from Europe anyway). However, it is completely different with a smooth V6 engine finally replacing the old L-series straight-six and strut front suspension not wishbones. Lots of detail differences on the bodywork too.
The result is something which is far faster to drive than it looks - I used to enjoy surprising people in the ones I had.
This one actually lasted quite a while, DVLA saying its last tax expired in 2005.

Chrysler Jeep Automotive was the official presenter of the Coys International Historic Festival meeting at Silverstone in July 1999 to mark Chrysler's 75th anniversary, and there was a display of Chrysler vehicles in the paddock including this Chrysler 300C.
Number of Chryslers 300C in 2023 in NL is 1,134 of which 767 sedan and 367 Touring models. Of 1,134 are 305 used imports and 829 were sold new here, like this one.
