La rumeur tourne depuis plusieurs mois : des pièces de 100F (0,8€) « à barbichette » pourraient être revendues jusqu’à 5000 F (42€) !
Que neni ! A moins de trouver un collectionneur intéressé (mais ils seraient rares), ou de berner un pigeon, ces pièces ne valent pas plus que leur valeur faciale : 100 F.
Tout aurait commencé en avril 2016. Sur une plateforme d’échange internet, un Tahitien parvenait à revendre deux pièces polynésiennes de 2009 à un collectionneur de Nouvelle-Calédonie, pour 21 euros (2 500 F). Sur le revers de l’une de ces pièces, une petite marque au niveau du menton de Marianne donnait l’impression qu’elle portait une barbichette.
A la même époque, d’autres Polynésiens remarquaient la bizarrerie et s’interrogeaient sur les réseaux sociaux : «Pourquoi y a-t-il une barbichette sur mes 100 F ??», postait un internaute sur Facebook. «Il y a eu des défauts, et ça se revend cher», lui répondait un autre. «3000 F je crois», confirmait un troisième, tandis que les suivants l’invitaient à se rendre dans un bureau de change en ville.
Résultat, «depuis cinq mois, nous recevons au moins deux appels par jour de personnes qui se renseignent sur le rachat de pièces de 100 F qui présentent un défaut de frappe…», raconte Valérie Macabies, la directrice adjointe de l’agence polynésienne de l’Institut d’émission d’outre-mer (IEOM).
La barbichette est une simple malfaçon, présente sur plusieurs pièces de 100 F, frappées en 2006 et 2009 par la Monnaie de Paris, à Pessac (près de Bordeaux). «Ce défaut n’est pas considéré comme suffisant pour qu’on les mette au rebut».
Ces écussons barbus représenteraient environ 10 % des centaines de milliers de pièces de 100 F émises en Polynésie française en 2006 et 2009. Inutile, donc, de constituer un coffre-fort rempli de piécettes de 100 F à la barbichette...

DL #3602, #3612, #3643, and #3000 lead PO74 east by Snag Pond in Gouldsboro on a cold morning. This is the first time #3602 and #3612 have run together on the DL since being bought from the WNYP.
DL 3000 has since been repainted into the sharp Deleware-Lackawanna corporate scheme but I was always fond of "pinky' wearing ex-GE colors.
The last time I did a 365, I was going through a very turbulent, personal, emotional time. My "rock" at that time was my dog Shorty. He wasn't just my dog, he was my friend and my therapist. He helped me in ways he never knew, and I'm glad I took pictures of him during that year.

I lost Shorty a couple of years ago. While there is no "replacing" a dog as special as him, Addie is just as special to me in her own unique way. Like Shorty, she is my friend and my therapist. I know that, no matter how shitty my day is, all I have to do is get home and know that she is REALLY happy to see me. Makes everything else kind of inconsequential.
Benvenuti in paradiso. Siamo a quota 3000 mt. Da qui partono le piste che dopo un dislivello di 1.800 mt. portano a Bormio. La particolarità di questa stazione sciistica è che, in qualsiasi punto ti trovi, puoi scendere a sino a valle con gli sci senza prendere impianti. Da questa terrazza panoramica si gode di una vista incomparabile. Un gracchio alpino compie le sue evoluzioni senza muovere le ali, semplicemente sfruttando le termiche ascensionali.
