I'm quite selective who I chose to ask to take part in my 100 Strangers project. Because I use a mobile studio light I have to set up and wait for people to pass by, instead of roaming the streets looking for subjects (I could do that too but it can be a hassle to drag my home made trolley around.)
I saw this girl walking towards me with another friend and a women who I think was their mother. She was so striking she stood out a mile and I knew I had to ask her for a photograph. She was my second stranger, but I had asked two others before her and they had both declined, so I was needing someone to accept as I was starting to feel a little deflated. I approached and asked politely. They seemed a little alarmed at first but their mother gave a nod and I photographed both of them (the other is my Stranger #3).
I showed this girl the photo on the back of the camera, but she seemed quite shocked. In fact she said it was horrible and that her eyes looked dead! Personally I really like the photo and I would hope if she saw the full sized version she would be happy with it.

Number three has some serious street credibility no? I spotted today's stranger sitting having a morning smoke.

I have been wearing Toms for almost 3 years now and I can say I'm proud. With every pair purchased, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need. I also would like to add... every year I also join in on the "One Day Without Shoes" and it makes a huge difference. It really makes you think about how shoes are a big part of life. So if you like to learn more I will provide links below. Thanks for reading!
