Day 3 in Vienna ... Saturday ... it snowed during the night, and still was snowing in the morning!
Today we activated our 72-hour City Passes, which meant we had unlimited use of the U-bahn (tube), the trams, and the buses. And use them we did.
First we got the U2 from Rathausplatz back to Karlsplatz, so we could get some things at the Naschmarkt.
There was a Weihnachtsmarkt at Karlsplatz, which looked fun ... it was more of an Art Market ... but it was not yet open. Some of them don't open until lunchtime or evening.
The 3rd round of the Mullingar Road League 2012. This 5km race was held on 16th May 2012 at 8PM. There was a huge attendance at the race. The weather was a little better than previous nights with a soft shower of rain on an otherwise warm evening. This was race number 3 in the series effectively marking half way in the 5 race series.
The Mullingar Harriers athletic club organise this league of races every May for the promotion of participation in sport and physical activity and to honour the memory of Pat Finnerty, a former Chairman of the Harriers who gave enormous service to Mullingar Harriers and athletics over many years. The Road League caters for runners, joggers and walkers of all ages and abilities.
The Road League is run on traffic free roads and trails in Belvedere House and Gardens and Park just outside Mullingar on the Tullamore Road. Belvedere House is situated in 160 acres of lakeside parkland on the shores of Lough Ennell.
This is a collection of photographs taken by Peter Mooney and family. Unfortunately poor lighting conditions and some camera issues mean that we have a little less photographs than normal.

Some say its name comes from a female cacique, named LoaÃza or YuÃza, who governed the region formerly called JaymanÃo, on the shores of the RÃo Grande de LoÃza. It is said that this cacique might have married a mulatto conquistador called Pedro MejÃas, but there is no evidence of this.[2] Other sources point to a Spanish landlord named Iñigo López de Cervantes y Loayza, who owned a lot of the territory, and was renowned among governors and colonists of the time.[3]

this boy loved to watch a man play some strange string instrument so much he went against his grandmothers will. he stood watching plainly for a while, then started dancing. when he saw me take a picture of him he came over and started a nice conversation with me about how he went the wrong way...? after a while his grandma pulled on his arm to go and he told me he'd see me tomorrow.. little kids are so much fun
In this photo you can see that the foam encapsulates the outlet box. This keep the box from being an air penetration.

On my way to Oshkosh I encountered a DC-3 in flight, at 5,000ft, just south of Chicago. I knew they had to be on their way to AirVenture, too! There was a large gathering of DC-3s for the airplane's 75th anniversary...
So while at Oshkosh I was on the lookout for a blue and white DC-3... and I did find them! Turns out that there is a neat story behind this airplane: The "Union Jack" had just been brought back to life and restored to flying condition by a team of British experts during the six weeks prior to AirVenture! It was great to meet the crew and get a tour of the inside of this great old bird!
A morning of Forest School for Year 3 - we particularly enjoyed cooking apple crumble on the fire... and of course eating it!

State Route 129 (SR 129) is a state highway in Asotin County, Washington, United States. It travels north–south at the southeastern corner of the state, connecting with Oregon Route 3 (OR 3) at the Oregon state line south of Anatone. The 43-mile (69 km) highway then follows the Snake River, which marks the Idaho state border, north to Clarkston and terminates at U.S. Route 12 (US 12). SR 129 also has a short spur route that connects to a separate intersection with US 12 in Clarkston.
The highway primarily serves as a connection between Clarkston, Asotin, and Enterprise, Oregon. An existing road connecting Clarkston to Asotin was incorporated into the state highway system in 1923 as a branch of State Road 3 and extended south to the Oregon border as part of Primary State Highway 3 in the 1940s. During the 1964 state highway renumbering, the Clarkston branch of PSH 3 was split into SR 128 and SR 129.
