A thought occurred to me, if you can shine a light through your fingers, why not a egg. Surprising result?

Lincoln has managed to keep the BNs together for a couple weeks now. Here, 2745 and 1958 are working hard to get their train up to speed coming out of the yard.

VTG 193 815 Budaörs/Hungary

With barely any time to spare, I got the train at Harvard.

Overall a very very good day. Temps around 60, hardly any wind and a whiteface leader.

(1/18/6) Trains/shots/hours or however Gilley does that.

Another one that I somehow forgot to post...

Bayard local running South towards Council Bluffs.

A well-timed text from Owen got my to the West side of Hobson in time to catch 2745 and 1958 leading the LINHAS.

You'd think after seeing the same couple foamers for 90ish miles, these guys would be sick of us, but they seemed to be enjoying themselves as much as we were. Waves and extra horn every time made the chase even better.

With a fresh crew aboard, the Bayard Local departs Aspinwal for the dash to Coucil Bluffs.

"balia nera" "Ficedula hypoleuca"

Just before this shot, a cute old couple stopped and asked me what was so special about this train.

Further down the Hastings Sub, the LINHAS had cars for Berks and they were barely crawling on the approach to the siding.

BNSF 2745 headed west out of Wilber.

Shoving past the tire factory. The Eastbound Z was quickly approaching on M1 making this a bit of a pucker-shot.

Brickyard, where the 90 mile chase would finish.

I haven't shot this line before today, but I had seen enough photos to recognize this bridge as soon as I saw it. The curve to the south was wide open and we set up at the road to the south and shot him coming around the curve. After this bridge the speed restriction went up a bit, and the former CBQ GP30 let out a bit of a smoke show while throttling up to get up to speed.

BNSF GP39E leads the 428 local southbound on the Beatrice Subdivision outside De Witt, Nebraska, Nebraska, December 23, 2022.

The BNSF R-PWR428 otherwise known as the Beatrice Local, heads West out of Wilber, NE with BNSF 2745 in the lead.

A GP60M and GP30 shove a train out of OLB 2 towards Havelock ADM.

Smithfields has been worked and the Beatrice local is "blasting" through Shestak.

Hot coffee and doughnuts in hand and engine doors closed, the Beatrice Local is back on the move through Wilber.

I didn't have enough lead to shoot him at Van Dorn and I didn't want to get stuck behind him through Denton, so I opted to shoot him at Yankee Hill on the South side of town.

Somehow the BN pair has stayed together out of Lincoln for quite some time. Last night, they were the power for the 627 local which shuttles cars from Lincoln to Aurora and back.

We started the chase at Emerald.

Beatrice local by the Farmers Elevator in Wilber.

About an hour of work at Crete gave us a bit more nose light on the run West.
