I wanted to get a photo of something fixed with some motion around it; my first few shots of this had the exposure time way too long -- afterwards you could barely tell anyone was even in the image. For this shot the exposure time was only 1/6 of a second.
Trevor Carpenter Photo Challenge 2018 WEEK 13 - 2010 Flashback - Down Low
Had the tripod set at its lowest point (about 18") and saw Velma looking pretty on the arm of the sofa and got to snappin'!
Trevor Carpenter Photo Challenge WEEK 5: 10, TEN, X …
The first thought I always get when hearing "ten" is a Harry Potter reference "Ten points to Gryffindor!", lol. So, I've been mulling on the whole "10 points" thing this week, and finally decided on 10 crystal points! :D
I dug out 10 of my various crystal points and arranged them in the bottom of my enameled cast iron dutch oven and put it in the window hoping to catch enough natural light. Well, Mother Nature is NOT cooperating on that front today (although, OF COURSE it's super sunny as I type this) so I had to use my on-board flash to get the right look.

Trevor Carpenter Photo Challenge 2018 Week 24: Soft Light

By "Second Thoughts" partly down the double black run "Ripcord" at Mt Snow on a fine day of Spring Skiing
Taken on the footbridge over Route 2 near the corner of Scituate and Arlmont in Arlington. I had driven on Route 2 earlier in the day and thought this bridge would be an ideal vantage point for a night shot with Boston in the background. The footbridge has a fence all around but luckily there's a small break and a concrete wall just before the bridge starts that I could perch on camera on.

Clear skies for an earlier morning mass ascension from the 40th Bristol International Balloon Fiesta
To fulfill a boyscout requirement, we went on a 12 mi bike ride today and practiced using maps and a compass along the way. This is one of our stops -- just before we rode across the Mass Ave bridge.
Overcast day at Bretton Woods; skiing conditions were ok. Even though we couldn't see Mt Washington across the valley, the views were great.
