Hello, everyone! I'm finally back, after four months of absence. Originally, I hadn't planned to take such a long time away from Flickr, but life had other plans....Well, I missed you all, hope you've missed me too. I decided to start with my very favorite shot I've done this year. So, here we go again!
The Rufous-collared Sparrows are very tolerant to human presence, and are a common sight in settlements across South America. They are often encountered hopping on open ground as they forage for seeds and insects or singing from a prominent perch on a shrub or rock.

Late note - sorry to confuse anyone with the timing of year here - yes it was autumn in NZ and Aust in April - please check the date taken. You should know by now that there is rarely a semblence of order my posts lol

Con 382 metros de altura, esta enorme pirámide de roca forma parte de una Reserva Natural por su alto valor ecológico, ya que en el islote destacan endemismos tanto en fauna como en vegetación. un lugar importante de reproducción para aves marinas y rapaces y una reserva natural marina, ya que en la zona hay una gran cantidad de fauna marina.
La supuesta radiación magnética de esta roca ibicenca ha llegado a ser comparada con las piedras de Stonehenge, las pirámides de Egipto y las estatuas de la isla de Pascua. Se dice que su poderosa energía envuelve a la isla de Ibiza y que es el motivo de fenómenos extraños como la desorientación de palomas mensajeras al pasar por encima de Es Vedrà.
En 1979 ocurrió uno de los sucesos más intrigantes respecto a lugar. Un avión comercial que volaba desde Mallorca a Tenerife fue perseguido durante 8 minutos por un OVNI al sobrevolar Es Vedrà. El piloto, experimentado, decidió desviar su ruta por seguridad y realizar un aterrizaje de emergencia en el aeropuerto de Valencia. Este suceso, bautizado como Caso Manises, constituyó el primer caso de aterrizaje forzoso por culpa de un OVNI en la aeronáutica española...
