The Eastern span of the San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge as we know it will soon be replaced with a more earthquake resistant span. The opening date is September 2013.
Wikipedia has a thorough explanation of the replacement (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eastern_span_replacement_of_the_San...). While the new span may be prettier, it'll never be the same.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKLU40TmKSs has a timelapse of the western edge of the span when they made the cutover into Treasure Island.
Desoto State Park, Fort Payne, Alabama - The actual "time" of the photo might have been off one hour due to our recent "time change."
ça commence à être juste dans l'étagère... et y'a une petite nouvelle de prévue... je suis incorrigible =_=
"Godafoss - 2013"
Here is on image from last June in Northern Iceland. Michael Bonocore, Colby Brown and I had stopped here the night before this one, only to leave and chase the light farther inland. We knew we wanted to shot these falls, so we camped nearby, then spent the afternoon in a small restaurant along the highway. The entire time we were hoping that some clouds would stick around for the night.
Luck was with us - it looked like this for 3+ hours (and 360 degrees). What a night!!!

Visited the river in 2013.
The Ganges, is a trans-boundary river of Asia which flows through India and Bangladesh. The 2,525 km (1,569 mi) river rises in the western Himalayas in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, and flows south and east through the Gangetic Plain of North India into Bangladesh, where it empties into the Bay of Bengal. It is the third largest river by discharge.
Wishing everyone a joyous and prosperous new year!
This shot was taken for the Lawrence Hall of Science in Berkeley, California and features 101 of their staff members in formation on the plaza in front of the museum.
I'm glad it all went well...it would have been extremely embarrassing to blow it in front of all those people!

Daylight today was also nice. I thought about removing some of the blue sky at the top, but I think the colors was too nice to remove and it adds something too the picture.
If you wonder about the big watermark. I'm just getting tired of my pictures copied out on the net on a lot of pages and used without my permission. I think it was too drastic to reduce picture size.
A Southbound CNRR train on the Leithton Sub on a bone chilling late afternoon in January. The train is running under the Illinois Prairie Path (Elgin Branch) flyover of the tracks. I was finally able to get a shot with flash illumination on the front decals. The only other fool out in 0F windchill was a friendly local resident of Wayne, IL I had chatted with a few months back, who had given me some really interesting info on the construction of this bridge.
