'Horses in my dreams
Like waves, like the sea
They pull out of here
They pull, they are free
Rode a horse round the world
Along the tracks of a train
Broke the record, found the gold
Set myself free again'

Christ of the Abyss is a submerged bronze statue, between Camogli and Portofino. It was placed on 22 August 1954 at approximately 17 metres depth, and stands c. 2.5 metres tall. The sculture was created by Guido Galletti. The statue was restored in 2003, and a hand detached by an anchor was also replaced. The statue was returned to the water with a new base on 17 July 2004.
