Blue-tailed damsels mating (Ishnura elegans). Every time I visit this pond another species has emerged. They are likely to have a hard time of it as larvae, there were 12 emperor dragonfly females ovipositing at once this morning.

During the eclipse the moon was directly overhead here. I managed to snap a few lunar shots between the clouds flying by... then the rain shut down the show.
As I took these eclipse shots there was simultaneously another show ninety degrees to the southwest: the molten lava reflecting off the clouds. I will add one photo of that below.
Another old capture of Amelia using a cheap point & shoot Kodak camera. It was also one of my first uploads to flickr. I completely re-edited it and tried to give it a grainy street photography/photojournalism type of feel.

Sadly Bill died a couple of days ago. Fortunately he was at home, with family. Though this doesn't sound abnormal, it certainly is today.
I shall remember him on the day that I took this picture. He told me stories. I melted him into his paintings. He was a wonderful person, with great taste. A generous teacher.
William Bailey, 1930-2020
I took pictures of Bill in the summers of 2007 and 2008 in his studio in Italy. These were shot with a mixture of natural light and a Metz 45 bouncing off of the ceiling, if I remember correctly. Taken with my M3 and the Summar 50/2 wide open. I love how the softness of the lens has blended the planes of the painting and the three dimensional space into one, bringing the painted character to life.

I was going through some old photos recently and found a shot of the waterfront that I took in 2007. I tried to re-create the same photo today. I haven't got the Liver building quite right, perhaps a few steps to the left would have been better and they have moved HMS Lightship further down. However, it gives an idea of just how much the the city changed during the Capital of Culture year in 2008 and has continued to change since then.
Here is Tombstone in Cochise county, Arizona Territory.

retrospectiva 2006
esse ano foi um ano de muuuuita coisa nova acontecendo, muitos amigos novos, equipamento novo, casa nova...
queria agradecer a toda família flickr por serem esses fotógrafos maravilhosos que sempre estão ai pra me ensinar e criticar se necessário.
e é claro, todos aqueles votos de paz, saúde, amor, dinheiro, sorte, amizade estão valendo!

Geen tramway, evenmin een trolleybus/ De nieuwe lijn werd een ´Busway´. Deze naam werd meteen ook geregistreerd. Het ontwerp van de bus heeft tot doel de uitstraling van dit hoogwaardig openbaar vervoer onderstrepen en doet nog het meest denken aan de CapaCity van Mercedes-Benz.

No tramway, nor a trolleybus. The new public transport connection between Place Foch and Porte de Vertou eventually became was a 'Busway'. The name 'Busway' immediately became a registrated trade mark. The design of these buses is adapted to this high quality public transport, inspired by the Mercedes-Benz CapaCity.
