Based at Mildenhall for several years until replaced by C-12F Super King Airs.

This aircraft appears to have the distinction of being the only Convair to land and take off from an aircraft carrier. On 1 September 1966 it was, for one day, transferred from NAS Patuxent River to VA-76 on board the USS Bonne Homme Richard for this purpose.

The above image is a scan from an original Kodachrome™ slide. The default size is 2000 x 1250 pixels, so clicking on the photo will enlarge it for better viewing.

The original image comes from my slide collection, amassed over the past 40+ years. They are a combination of my own photographs and ones acquired over those years.

I created this Photostream in 2017 for the purpose of holding my slide collection as an archive, as otherwise they would just remain in binders and boxes, not being enjoyed by anyone, myself included.

August 1985.

The Euston to Inverness service with Class 87 87011 The Black Prince stands at Crewe station, I was having a days photography here there was as usual plenty to photograph, 47052 47444 47455 47463 47490 47509 47529 47533 47543 47638 47648 86102 86103 86206 86208 86220 86229 86233 86247 86253 86255 86422 86434 31447 37038 45041 25109 85015 85021 85036 20045 20053 81002 13/09/1986.

20159 and 20045 head off (into the setting Sun) southward towards Staffordshire to fetch another load of Coal to feed Fiddler Ferry power station. 7th April 1990.

I seems unusual for a train from Fiddlers Ferry going south to be departing the station but it made a very convaluted move to do so.

Having arrived at Latchford siding behind another pair of 20's, these two attached themselves to the rear. and dragged the whole train inc the other pair round to Walton Sidings. It then reversed again heading off to the station (at this point I thought it was heading north).

Once in the loop at the East of the station it detached the original pair and reversed again setting off thus towards the south. I can only presume the direct route out to the south was blocked for some reason

July 18, 2023 The Hill Live brings together caregivers, patients, clinical experts, and lawmakers to answer these questions and more as we discuss the fight against Alzheimer’s and breakthroughs in providing relief to those who suffer from agitation and aggression.

Alzheimer’s disease affects about 55 million people worldwide, including 6.5 million Americans, and has no cure. Some patients with Alzheimer’s sometimes show signs of extreme aggression or become restless and anxious as their brains lose the ability to negotiate with new stimulus.

Agitation is a common neuropsychiatric symptom in Alzheimer’s dementia and one of the most complex and stressful aspects of caring for people living with the condition. It is reported in approximately half of people with Alzheimer’s dementia and is associated with earlier alternative living placement.

What do patients, caregivers and families navigating the complexities of agitation associated with Alzheimer’s need to know? How are researchers and doctors better understanding risk factors and diagnoses? What policy actions can prioritize research, detection and treatment? And what are the access considerations for patients and their caregivers as they navigate this difficult symptom?

With space becoming scarce for stored locos on the main Toton site in the mid to early nineties a number of stored class 20 locomotives were moved to Stanton Gate just to the north of the yard / depot. From memory these locos were visible off the M1 to the left when travelling southbound. One day on a visit to Toton from Sheffield I sought out the line of withdrawn locos to record them for posterity sake. Amazing some 20 years on the old workhorses are still pounding the tracks of the network some probably working on spares recovered from these stored locos.

Although I'm not sure of the date of this shot, this pair appear in the Summer/ Autumn 1990 platform 5 Motive Power book as stored at Stanton Gate, whilst not in the Spring 1991 edition, unlike 20045 and neighbours which appear in the 1991 edition, but not the 1990. 20097 was officially withdrawn September 1989, being cut up at MC Metals in Glasgow in October 1991.
