PERSONAL FUN FACT: Sometimes things have a funny way of working out. During the summer of 2024, my sister and I had set out to finish updating all our Barbie albums here on Flickr. Earlier in the year, we'd begun retaking and replacing the guide photos (pictures of the dolls, their faces, and their things). At some point we were doing my 2000s Barbies. Growing up, I had the African American Princess Palace set. I bought it brand new at Toys 'R' Us...well actually, Dad got it for me. Anyways, I knew that there was a blonde variation. I had been hoping to get my hands on it since I began collecting dolls again in 2011. Both Colleen and I had been thinking of this blonde Barbie since we took photos of the 2000s gals. I had even seen what seemed like a good deal for one on eBay. As it turned out, the lot had everything BUT Krissy. The same seller had Krissy by herself, for the same price as Barbie and all the accessories!!! So that was not an option, obviously. It just so happened that this beautiful specimen showed up at my doorstep that July. She was part of the "Biggies and Barbies Lot." Two generous people had sent us a bunch of dolls as a surprise gift. In one box there were predominantly Barbies, who used to be in one of the guy's collections. This girl was one of the few who had her outfit still. That worked out perfectly, since I didn't have a spare of this in storage. It did need some mending--one of the sleeves was ripped and fraying quite badly. After fixing it up, Barbie was good as new (well, after that and her day at the spa). I think she's just as pretty as her African American counterpart, and she is just as special since she was a generous gift!

Pictures taken in Clervaux, Luxembourg, in July 2003. I took my son and a friend and visited the Benelux states, living in my brother's Belgian home and making road trips in the area. This day, we visited places of interest in rural Luxembourg.
A Clervaux-i bencés apátság Luxemburgban.
