Diesel. Italian assembled Daihatsu Hijet in reality. These were never common in the UK and are very rare now. I think they were the only kei vehicle every available in diesel. I believe they're pretty slow and noisy but extremely frugal.
This one was at a garage and had failed it's MOT, but it has passed now on 84,000 miles..

The Buick Rendezvous, introduced in the spring of 2001 as a 2002 model year vehicle, is a Midsize crossover SUV that was sold by Buick for the 2002–2007 model years. The Buick Rendezvous and its corporate cousin the Pontiac Aztek were GM's entry into the crossover SUV segment. As a four-door crossover with a front engine and optional all-wheel drive (Versatrak), the Rendezvous featured a four-speed automatic transmission with a V-6 engine. The SUV used the same platform as GM's short version minivan, Pontiac Montana and Chevrolet Venture. The Rendezvous provided a passenger and load carrying capacity not seen in the Buick lineup since the discontinuation of the Buick Roadmaster Station Wagon in 1996.
It was Buick's first truck in its lineup since 1923, and the Rendezvous was billed as a combination of the best attributes of a minivan (large cargo capacity, seating for up to seven), a luxury automobile (ride, handling, smoothness) and a sport utility vehicle (truck styling and available all wheel drive).
The Rendezvous was produced at General Motors' Ramos Arizpe, Mexico assembly plant, where it shared an assembly line with the Pontiac Aztek. Like the Pontiac Aztek, the Buick Rendezvous is based on a shortened version of GM's second generation U platform minivans. In lieu of four-wheel drive, the Rendezvous offered Versatrak, a full-time, fully automatic all-wheel drive system which provided sure-footed traction in inclement weather and could handle moderate off-road surfaces.
Buick benchmarked their Park Avenue sedan as the prototypical target for ride and handling for the Rendezvous. In order to provide a luxurious and responsive car-like ride, all Rendezvous came equipped with a fully independent rear suspension system regardless of optional content or trim level.

This is my daily driver, nippy little 1.3 SR, certainly wants to go on the straights! Picked it up for 900 pounds back in early 2023 and hasn’t really been too much trouble since, starts every time only thing replaced is the brakes and exhaust! Best purchase as of late 😂

PERSONAL FUN FACT: One of the things I love most about the Star Skater line is the interesting variations of Barbie! I recall a few years before owning this Asian gal, I saw the African American variation at the local flea market. She looked almost exactly like a Generation Girl Nichelle (with different makeup and a special body of course). If I had more money that day, I would have bought her. But my budget was tight, so I left her behind. It was always a regret of mine. In 2020, I found this lady at the local flea market from the same seller ironically. She had put out a fresh resupply of boxed dolls, all for great prices (like $10 and under). I couldn't leave this Asian Star Skater behind. Not just because I regretted not getting the AA doll...but also because she advertised Michelle Kwan on her package. Michelle Kwan was my absolute favorite figure skater when I was growing up. Colleen, Mom, Dad, and me all used to watch figure skating. I loved Michelle Kwan because she starred as Jasmine in the Aladdin on ice tv special. Mom and Dad even taped this for me so I could watch it whenever I wanted. Aladdin was always my favorite Disney movie, and I thought Michelle Kwan was the perfect Jasmine. Honestly I was too young to really know much of anything about figure skating or the skaters, but I still have so many fond memories of it. That is the reason I decided to name this lady Michelle Kwan--in tribute to my early childhood (and because she was advertised on the box)!
