Origem do Dia do Índio
On April 19 is celebrated the day of the Indian in Brazil. The date was established by President Getúlio Vargas in 1943.
Origin of the Day of the Indian
The day April 19 is remembered as a day of India, due to an event occurred in 1949 in Mexico, where several indigenous leaders resolved part of the First Indian Congress Inter.
Concerned that their demands were not heard by the "white men" as the natives did not attend conferences in the early days of the event. During the event was the Indian Institute Inter, which main goal is to look after the rights of indigenous peoples in America. Brazil has not joined immediately to the institute, but after the intervention of the Marechal Rondon had its membership and established the Indian Day on April 19.
With all my respect, affection and love to our Indians "Congratulations"
Why???
Apparently its to make you think thus making you more aware of the sign. Well yes i suppose it does do that but surely these signs come at a cost as no other town is stupid enough to have 19 MPH as their speed limit. and Especially when there's no end of 20 signs lying around. It's basically some Cambridge graduate being clever and some idiot agreeing to it.

Today was filled with sunshine in Vancouver....a lovely spirit lifting type day. Sunday brunch with friends makes everything better!
Meet Matt.
He was just leaving the leisure centre, checking his phone, he looked up and smiled, and said hello, so I pounced. He had just finished playing squash, hence the slightly red face, unfortunately he lost. As he walked away, he wished me good luck with the project.

Susi & I saw some nice felted beads at TNNA last week & then I saw a cool felted ring on Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/heylucyloo/360719926/) a day or two later so got it in my head last night to try my own. These are made by taking unspun roving & a using a felting needle (a sharp barbed needle) to make it into tight little balls by stabbing the roving over & over again while shaping it. I think I may have felted my finger as well but I did get enough done for a bracelet. I thought they looked really sweet on the coffee table in the morning sun before I left for work.
