Alpaca Shearing - The alpacas are sheared every spring and I was fortunate to come across this one at Kuhn's River Country Alpacas in Beach Lake, PA.. The shearers come to the farm and each animals "blanket", which is the primary fiber taken from the main trunk, is bagged separately and labeled with the name of the alpaca and date. The "seconds" are mixed together. The fiber will be processed by Worthington Acres Alpacas Farm and Fiber Mill. The alpacas sheared today provide approximately 5 lbs. of fiber each. It was very interesting to witness how careful the shearers were and how calmly the alpacas submitted to the whole process.
I will share some of my husband's shots in honor of his b.d. coming soon :>) This NYC Woodlawn Cemetery is overwhelming in size and cool mausoleums but very peaceful in demeanor.
Bride to be! I've known her since we were 5..after almost 25 years, still one of my closest friends.
Had an entire day of interviewing today. Absolutely exhausted, but pleased with how it all went - even if we still can't make our minds up about who to appoint! We agreed to sleep on it tonight and reconvene tomorrow....
Tim went out to his pilates class this evening, and I hadn't taken a photo all day, so I had a little think and then decided to try this - balancing a pretty glass marble on a CD. I have to say it turned out even better than I'd imagined! I do love mucking about with macro :)
