My girl, nearly one year after her scoliosis repair. There are still 16 more staples worth under her shirt. Dr. Miyanji, you do some fabulous work. Thank you!

i just arrived in dallas for a bachelorette/lingerie party tomorrow. another one, i know. and i have the horrible feeling that i left the gift on the stairs at home. i'm getting so bad at leaving stuff at home. it's so cold in this house, not sure if i'm going to survive the night. if i don't get any photo up tomorrow, you understand.
In 1987 "Ben Olday" logged 7863.2 miles on his bicycle according to one of the laminated newspaper clippings he shared with me as we spoke today. Born in 1956, from the moment his training wheels came off his bike, he knew he was destined to go far. Unfortunately his miles took a downward turn after a motorcycle accident in 1980, even though he was wearing a helmet his memory of the years previous was erased. Still dealing with short term memory loss, he continues to log his miles and the places he has been in a journal to help him remember. He also showed me (and allowed me to feel) the indent in his head) where doctors had to remove brain tissue. Although he never fully recovered from the injuries, he has a good outlook on life and with positive thoughts he just keeps on going and going like the Energizer Bunny.

And the light cut right through
Through her skin, through her bones
Yeah, the light cut right through
Where it glows and it glows
And the dew in the grass had an electric glow.
Today was really nice. Light and warmth and trees and silence.
I think I like being alone too much.
Is that bad?
Flickr and photography are taking over my life.
I couldn't be happier.
